Morocco - Mauritania

Follow our journey along the North-west coast of Africa

What an amazing few weeks!!! We flew in from Tunisia to Morocco but because of the closed doors regarding religion we aren't able to share boldly or even quietly so we've been travelling from city-city meeting up with other oranges and encouraging them and being encouraged by them! We started in the capital, Casablanca, and then went up to the touristy town of Fez, we then passed by Casa again and went down to Marrakesh- and even had the opportunity to spend a few days in a small Berber village up in the foothills of the Atlas mountains!!! Our main goal has been intersession, and our Father has really come and worked awesomely through this special time. Here are a few pictures to tell the story. . . Cassablanca
We arrived on a Saturday and had the nice surprise of having a true South-African meal- Boboti and then going to church the next morning! After that we went to the mosque, it's aparently one of the largest in Africa, and so beautiful! We met up with locals and had some amazing fellowship time there. It was such a blessing and good reminder of home.

Fez

The mystical town of Fez has a special place in our hearts and should in yours as well. It's 400 years old and has the oldest living medieval market place- and it's the city where their religion was established by 829.

Us at the medina gate                               Some of the interesting food choices

We could see a hill with an arch in the distance from our hostel roof and decided to go pray there, it was fantastic! We also went to the leather tannery to go see( and smell!) how all the pretty leather products are made

Marrakesh

This was such a special time in our journey! We met up with people who blessed us so much, and we really pressed in and focused on praying for the people of this beautiful country, we also learned so much from them, and from each other as well!

Our hosts took us to a rocky hill in the middle of the town and we could look out over Marra and bring it before our Father, and yes, those are the beautiful Atlas mountains in the background! The other pic is the mosque near the medina

We had the great privilege of going into the the little local Berber village in the foothills of the Atlas mountains just outside of Marrakesh for a few days. It was breathtaking and so so special, and significant for us as a team. Our Father really came and worked in our hearts and it was amazing to see that as we were interceding for the country's change, He was busy changing us! It really was such a time of just seeking Him and building our unity as a family- life changing.
On our last evening in Amismiz the family who looks after the house e stayed in made us a traditional dish of Tajine- it as sooooo good!!!

Our stay in Morocco was such a time of growth for us: Each person individually(and it's been amazing to see the changes in everyone as they happen), and growth for us as a team.

Our next destination, Senegal, is 2 countries down the west coast. . . but why fly across when we can over-land?? So we went down through Western Sahara and Mauritania, doing a faith journey that the next EAteams would have open doors in these countries, and having fun along the way. . .

Thank you to everyone we met along the way for the imput you gave into our lives- its changed us forever! We're still in a continual growing process and can't wait to see what's next in His plan for us! Please keep us in your prayers and know you're in ours as well.

Lots of love

EA
