Just Stop and Think

Have you ever had the experience where you’re thinking about something and then you realize, how can you think that you are thinking about something? Wow , what an amazing feeling. Scary but incredible.

Every time that I find myself thinking about something, I just stand in awe of the absolute majestic feeling of being able to think and the idea of that just numbs me to stop and think...

The scary thing about life is that we are so busy and when we’re not busy we are busy making plans for being busy. Just thinking about this idea makes me tired. Everywhere we see this word (busy). Its consuming our society and putting us into a box where even making two minute noodles is to long to wait for.

Today I want to invite you to take a deep breath just where you are to stop and think...

Do you know that planet earth moves at about 1000 miles per hour (1600 km/hr).

If that does not grasp you, listen to this one. Your heart has the mighty job of keeping blood flowing through the 60,000 miles of blood vessels that feed your organs and tissues. 75 trillion cells receive blood from the heart. Only the corneas don't.

If that still does not grasp your mind this one will definitely break it. The creator who created the earth and your heart is the same person who gave His one and only Son for you (John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”). The God who created the heavens and the earth, the mountains and the seas, loves you so much that He took the image of a servant , left heaven for earth, lived as a normal man, denied by his own followers and crucified to a cross (Phil 2:6-8 “Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross.” so that you will not die but have eternal life. Wow!!

The thing is, we all know this beautiful story but the question is, do we really? Do we really sit down and think what has been done? Just imagine the person you love the most. Now imagine giving that person up as a ransom so that people you love can live. Let me take this further, imagine giving up this person as a ransom so that your enemies and people you can’t get along with, will be saved and set free... who in the world would do that? There is only one Answer.

The God of the universe did that for you and the beautiful thing is that you don’t have to do anything, you just have to receive it and believe that His Son is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”)

Everything you have done is washed away and when God looks at you, He will see Jesus.

So my challenge to you is, when you are making two minute noodles or sitting in traffic, stop and think for a moment... You are loved and you are chosen. Just enjoy that feeling.
