Hidden world deals with their demons...

Well, what an exciting month, full of adventure and trials… the normal Christian life.

I have never had such a big fright than this month… and no it was not the 3 men with machetes, knives and a handmade gun commanding us to give them our electronics, but a pastor and then a guy that just got out of satanism telling me that Jesus removes the covering over Christians if the keep on doing the same sin and not repenting. That covering is what Job had over him, and Satan couldn’t touch him… but once it was removed… well nothing good ever happens when God removes His covering. The bible became so real to me this month as we were soldiers in the spiritual battle… don’t let anyone ever convince you that there is no war, no demons… my eyes was opened, and I really wish the world could see through these eyes! Even the demons know that Jesus is real and they fear His name... And another thing… did you know Christians can have demons? I never did, until I met some of my own, and then the bible revealed a few men that had demons, like Paul’s thorn in his side, if you read about it in the bible, it says that God sent an evil spirit to Paul to keep him from having pride… well, that right there was a demon. Anyway, I don’t even know how to explain the things I saw with my own eyes this month.

There was a short term team visiting us from South Africa this month, and it was really a blessing to speak Afrikaans to other people, I was even proud to carry a Pick ´n Pay bag through the streets of Panajachel. This month we have a fixed plan per day… at 10 we start working, at 3 we stop, at 6 our teachings start, and at 12 they stop… there is almost not enough time to take it all in, but after four months of  only listening to Spanish teachings, we are so hungry for the word. The time in Panajachel really is one of the best blessings I´ve ever had. And for once we see the truth, and that truth set us free… I hope everyone could experience this kind of freedom!!!
Guatemala was a month of fire. A hard month of work, of rebuilding foundations, (physically and mentally) and rethinking everything we have been taught in our lives about certain aspects of our Christian lives. I realized how much I compromised the things I believe so that it would fit in with my way and my will. It’s sad really. Our whole team grew individually, for that is how God planned it for us, and we all dealt with more issues that we knew we had. Ane decided that Guatemala is a great place to find out that shaving with a grinder is a bad choice… well, she actually tried to cut 1 of the 1000’s of bricks we carried into Ben’s-to-be-missionary house, and got hurt, but the wound is healing and no bone was damaged, so her being able to carry her heavy bag is truly a miracle of God!!!

We did a lot of out-out-of-the-ordinary stuff in Guatemala, like sing “in die Hemel is die Heer” in a cave where people offer animals and other stuff to their gods – and suddenly the atmosphere got lighter and they asked questions about what happened. So, if you are stressed about what is happing in the end of the year because of the Mayan Calendar… don´t be. The Mayans might have been brutal and violent human sacrifice makers of their time, but in reality they are very much in love with nature. The greenies probably came from the Mayan heritage. And the heart of the prophesies proclaims the following: Yes, there will happen something big. But no, it´s not the end of the world. The prophesy speaks about a time where people will move into a peaceful era, worshipping mother earth. First of all, the name mother earth – well that is kind of demonic. And secondly, the prophesy is already happening, because of the whole eco and green movement. I´m not exactly sure when the prophesies started telling stories about mass destruction, but no, Jesus will not be arriving the 24th of December, or any other day that we are currently aware of. Well, He´s coming like a thief in the night, so nobody will know after all. But if could tell you something interesting… our lovely American friends have instated the chip, and it will be used from March next year. There old folks won’t be able to receive medical attention if they don’t have the chip. Well that’s just in America. Africa is safe. We only have our chips in cell phones, and credit cards… woops, did I just say that?
Finally, I want to tell you that your heart is a land, it’s God’s land. But we as Christians can have whatever we want on our lands – demons,  not-demons… South Africans will understand they term “plakkers”. They are people who come onto your land illegally. But if you give them a right to stay there, they will stay… and maybe invite a few family members. We do that with demons, we give them the right to be there, we sometimes welcome them in! The term “opening doors” suddenly became so real as we discovered all sorts of ways demons get in, and once they’re in it’s really hard to get them out. You can’t just destroy the plant, you have to take out the roots as well, and some roots goes much deeper than we think. Here is one close to home – sometimes we keep declaring stuff like “I’m sick” so the demon says “hey, I’ll be your sickness” and suddenly you really are sick. I have heard stories this month of people that were set free of depression and so many sicknesses. And you know what, before all the medical terms existed, the only explanation for a sickness was having demons, and all you needed was a prayer and faith… not a bag full of pills. And yes, God can and does use doctors to heal, and no, not every problem you have in life means you have demons… But what if it could be, what if one prayer was all you needed to be free from your torment… for that’s what demons do, they torment. And Jesus came to abolish the works of the devil right? Isn’t that what we are supposed to do also? Or are we just going to carry on as if there is no such thing as demons while we give them more and more of our land? Ask God to show you your heart, show you what is left of your land, and then the real Christian life begins in fighting against everything that is trying to conquer your life!!!
