My application for Global Challenge, 80 Days Around the World, was a leap of faith…
Faith brings Joy - Romans 5:2-5 “Because of our faith, Christ has brought us to this place of UNDESERVED PRIVELAGE where we now stand, and we CONFIDENTLY & JOYFULLY look forward to SHARING God’s glory. We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems & trials, for we know that they will help us develop ENDURANCE. And endurance develops strength of CHARACTER, & character strengthens our CONFIDENT HOPE of SALVATION. And this HOPE will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.”
For an unskilled & ordinary (Acts 4:13) person, like myself, to be given this opportunity of a lifetime – to experience, discover & share the Glory of God in a completely new way, & to new & extreme extents – is an amazing privilege.
Global Challenge promotes a lifestyle of simplicity. So, with my backpack, my two feet & God by my side, I’m going to embrace this simplicity. I’m convinced that God is going to surprise me to an extent which I can’t possibly imagine. Teach me more than my mind could comprehend. Give me the words to tell His story. And capture MY heart in order to touch OTHER people’s lives.
Ultimately, by leading a life of simplicity, the simple truth will be discovered: that life & the GREAT Source thereof, is everything but ordinary. It is, in fact, unbelievably EXTRAORDINARY!!!!
