Mount Sinai (10 March - 11 March)
What a beautiful view, feeling as if you are standing on top of the world! This was definitely my favourite part of the Egypt journey!
While climbing mount Sinai, referred to as mountain of God, I couldn't stop thinking about a verse in Psalms; who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart. (Ps 24 :3-4)
The question is... How clean is your hands, and how pure is your heart? We all know that what is in you heart comes out of your mouth (Mark 7:20).& nbsp; Have you ever spoken a lie? Have you ever stolen from someone, credit or money, things big or small? Have you ever dishonored your parents? Have you ever thought unclean thoughts? Have you ever had outbursts of rage? Have you ever accused someone unfairly? Do you have selfish ambitions? Do you envy people or their possessions?
Asking ourselves questions like these bring into reality the fact that we all have fallen short of the glory of God, and that our fleshly hands are filthy and our hearts deceitful (Rom 3:23 & Jer 17:9,10)
Is there then any hope for us?
Yes..... JESUS CHRIST!!!!
If you have received Him as Lord and Saviour and believe in Him with all your heart, then you are seated in Christ Jesus in heavenly places, you are in Him and He is in you (Eph 2:5,6).
By abiding in Christ, you are holy and have a pure heart and clean hands. And by allowing God to prune you, refine you, you will bear much fruit, godly fruit (John 15:2 & 1Pet 1:6,7).
Now, may you always grow in revelation; that Christ has justified you by His grace, and gave you clean hands (while piercing His hands on the cross) and a pure heart, His heart..., a heart beating with a passion for God, beating with a passion for all nations and peoples, burning with the desire to please God in all it does!!!
So may you have clean hands and a pure heart!
SCRIPTURES:
Mark 7:20 What comes out of a man (whats in his heart), that defiles a man.
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
Jeremiah 7:9,10 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked, who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Ephesians 2:5,6 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved) and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
John 15:2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away, and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
1Peter 1:6,7 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if needs be, you have been grieved by various trails, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
