we started the day shopping at the Russian market.
we received a challenge card containing a list of challenges we have to complete. our team, consisting of Cornelia, eduan and elani, had to eat a choice of a) snake, b) frog or c) green eggs(courtesy of dr.suess.)
we also have to visit the water of life centre where we have to take a photo with Stephen (from the USA) or the two south African doctors who volunteer there.
later in the afternoon we visited the daughters centre, where Ruth and other volunteers train women who were previously sexworkers in handcrafts and cooking.
This ngo equips women with life skills such as human relations, financial skills and English so that they can find jobs to sustain
themselves.
elani admires ruth's heart for the girls. ruth left Cambridge six years ago. she is now married to a Cambodian and they have four children. "it is amazing how someone can build up an organization like this from the ground, in order to help others."
Cornelia is still amazed at the Cambodians' driving skills. she continues to pray for Asia as a warrior in YHVH's service.
eduan is impressed with the "help-my-sterk-lyk-hempies" that all the guys on our outreach team bought for themselves. (the girls rather dislike it!!)
'it is amazing how being around Cambodian Christians you expects them to act like Christians, but in SA we don't"
the team agrees that yesterday's church service was the longest they've attended yet : 4hours!
please continue to pray for our outreach.
GOD BLESS
Cornelia, Eduan & Elani
