Leaving my net behind

I am leading a group of 5 incredible ladies... we are Adventure bound... and this is our story...

Can I call you Raavi?

Israel

We decided to spend a few days in Israel to rest and fill our tanks. We spent 5 days in Jerusalem, Israel. There's a SA missionary who opened her house to us. Her house is a permanent house of prayer and people come and go to pray for the peace of Jerusalem there. She took us to many places in Jerusalem to see where Jesus walked, was crucified, his tomb, where the outpouring of the holy spirit happened in the upper room, mount zion, the mount of olives etc. This was phenomenal, as you can imagine. We also learned from her what is looks like to be an intercessor and experienced the dwelling of the spirit in her home.

Bethlehem, Palestine

Entering into Palestinian territory was scary at first. We were greeted with burning tyres, people wearing gas masks and staring at us with intimidation. But God protected us and brought us safely to a monastery where we served nuns for a week. They are building a garden and therefore we were weeding, cleaning, planting and sorting stuff in their garden.

We had a day off where we felt God lead us to go to the Bethlehem Bible College. There we received a fascinating talk on the history of the Israeli and Palestinian conflict. As well as how God planted that Bible college in the midst of all the religious and political tension. We are praying for God to help solve the conflict as well as to keep sending the workers.

Thereafter, we split into teams and we walked through the Palestinian refugee camps with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We were welcomed into the homes of refugees and again shared stories and learned about the effects of the conflict. It's an intimidating, harsh climate, but we have learned that through these conversations, God is shining his light and bringing hope.

We also learned that the great Apologist, Raavi Zacharious was giving a free talk at the Bible College. I have been a big fan and this couldn't wait to see him.  Therefore we enjoyed a wonderful night listening to his rich insights.

We hiked up to the sea of Galilee where we trusted the holy spirit to guide us in how to get there. Along the way, he also provided food for us. We camped in a few places next to the sea and then made our way to the airport.
