Northbound (Croatia team, we are divided between Croatia and Bosnia at this point in time) is currently at the Kamp Fokus, which is a campsite owned by the Evangelical Church of Split. It is located about 170km from Split and it is in the beautiful Croatian mountains. The team is currently helping out in the kitchen, we are responsible for the kid’s games at the camps, we will help with building of the bungalows and we are sharing God’s Story in our lives by doing dramas and testimonies at night around the campfire! God is truly moving mightily in the kid’s hearts, as well as the parents and camp staff!
The campsite is used for various camps, including kid’s, youth and family camps. The aim of these camps is to show Jesus’ love and compassion to the families as well to kids who come out of broken homes, especially those who are affected by the alcohol and drug abuse, and those afflicted by the war a few years ago.
The campsite was purchased in 2006 and since then the campsite was built to host camps and over the years more facilities has been built with the help of supporting teams and missionaries. There is an old farm house, a campsite for tents and a communal eating place with a kitchen. Currently the families and the kids stay in the tents, which is very old. The temperature here also go as low as -20degreesC in the winter, which means the camps cannot be held in the winter, as the tents are not warm enough. The plan therefor is to build six bungalows where the tents are erected, which will have bunk beds for approximately 6 people each, and which will be heated up in the winter.
The church does not have the funds for the bungalows at the moment, so we as Northbound (Croatia) would like to help them by sponsoring one of the bungalows. The foundations have already been poured and we will help with the building of the walls during our time in Croatia. One bungalow will cost about 2000 USA dollars, which is approximately R17 000.

Wow the campsite looks amazing. So much has been done. God is using the church in Croatia! Great to see they are doing well.
