The past week in Jerusalem has been an amazing journey where the stories that you heard from childhood just came to life in a totally new way that I could have never imagined.Just to see all the places where most of the Bible stories took place has been a life changing experience and there is no way that i will ever read a single story the same way.(Wessel)
I have always known that Jesus died for me but seeing His grave (where they think he lay) and realizing the shame, rejection, and pain He must have experience was to much for my heart to bear I sat one side crying, why? Jesus why? And in my heart I felt him say "It was for you Vix" and because of my love for you so that we can be together. My heart broke again as I realized how I have taken this love for granted and many times neglected spending time with Jesus.(Vix)
Israel was really amazing and seeing all the places of where Jesus was really completed the story in my head .I now can put the pictures with the story. I went on a free tour of Jesus crucifixion, and the route He traveled- VIA DOLOROSA and there was writing on stone on the wall. "If anyone wants to come with me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily and follow Me- Luke 9:23 " that made me think of this to have a God seeking lifestyle and to live to the full everyday. Live to shine the light and be the difference you want to see in the world. The thing that stood on the door at the garden tomb is true, He died , But He has RISEN. (PJ)
Are we missionaries, students or tourists???
In the last two months I think that all of us started to find our place in Global Challenge. Our place is God's Kingdom here on earth. We live in Gods Kingdom already and it is a day by day dying in yourself, living a God-seeking lifestyle, helping an old lady, serving others, giving someone your precious time, telling your story to someone (You have a wonderful story, because Jesus died for you) and just living day by day with your spiritual eyes wide open, living for now, for today, for this moment with God!!!!!
We met a man at the garden tomb that gave his life to Jesus when he was 60 years old and the joy of the Lord is visible in his whole being. I will never forget what he said: "You know Jesus your whole life. Imagine living your whole life without Jesus and finding him when you are 60 years old." What a privilege we have to grow up knowing Jesus and what He has done for each one of us. (Luzaan)
