Luke 10

A bit about my Luke 10 journey.

So we started at about 6:00 am on the 21st with the Luke 10 journey.  All together 9 people. We started out in Guatemala and went through El Salvador.  When we went through the El Salvador border into Honduras, we split into 3 smaller teams of 3 people each.  By this time it was dark, we had no money, no food and only the clothes that we had on.

The challenge was taking nothing and just trusting on the Lord for provision in everything.

So the challenge started.   We hitched a ride all the way through to the border of Nicaragua, where we went through hoping and trusting in the Lord to show us the way we need to go and in which town we could go and minister – so all of the team members agreed to go to the town Corinto near the Pacific Ocean, far from the border – at about that hour we didn’t have any food yet – but it felt good denying the flesh and allowing God to work.

We ended up in Corinto at about 2pm after hitching a couple of rides, mostly at the back of pickup trucks.

Now this town of Corinto is a really poor town and when we walk through the streets no one really wanted to speak to us and you could see Jesus everywhere (there where Mormans, Catholics and Pentecostals), but you couldn’t see Jesus in them.  They did not show any of the works of Christ in them and the town was also covered by a spirit of lust.

So at about 11pm, walking through the whole town, there was one women who was also a believer in Jesus Christ who bought us a pie to eat.  She would have also given us a place to stay if her husband would allow it – but he said no and we went to a park to sleep.  They told us to leave because they wanted to close the park, so we ended up walking back to the city centre where the Catholic church gave us a place to stay. We slept in nice clean beds and could take a shower the next morning.  In the morning we set out for the ports to see if there was a boat we could take and ended up on the shore seeing that there is no public transport on boats there.

A lady approached us.  This lady was really the poorest of the poor, yet handed us 6 of Nicaragua money currency and we stayed there a couple of hours just ministering to her.  Then we headed out and the Lord spoke in our hearts to leave Corinto because we couldn’t find the man of peace we looked for.  So our mission was to go back to Guatemala, because felt we must go there, but not back to Pananjachel where we stayed.  Just into the border and then we'll asked God where we must go. So we got loads of rides and somewhere near the Nicaraguan/Honduras border a truck driver picked us up and told us we can carry on riding with him through the border and go with him as far as he can take us.

So at the border post we encountered one of our biggest struggles, because we needed to pay in $ to get out of Nicaragua and in to Honduras and we had no money.   With loads of prayer and perseverance we finally got through and it was only God at work – so all Glory to God for what He did for us.  At Honduras they allowed us to go through, but they didn’t stamp our passports, so we were illegal in Honduras... Hehe

So after another days travel and no food and lots of prayer so the police would not pull us over because then we ourselves and the truck driver will be in trouble, the driver dropped us 30km from the El Salvador border – it was a beautiful night and the stars were shining.  We asked God that a pickup truck could pick us up and one did – so for about 10km we were staring at God's creation and just praising Him.  We were dropped off at the town before the border at around 8:00pm on the 23rd.

A big truck picked us up and he headed straight to Guatemala and said we can tag along – this truck had a double bed and on top of the double bed a single bed so we had loads of place to sleep. At the Honduras border, going into El Salvador knowing we had no stamp that said we were in the country, we prayed and prayed and without any struggle we got through.  Praise the Lord!  On our walk to the El Salvador border a snake almost bit us. Hehe We went through the El Salvador side and the truck that was going to Guatemala picked us up again and headed to our so called "home country", Guatemala.   We arrived at the border at 3 am and the truck driver left us at the border post.  At around 6am the border post opened and we went through and walked to a filling station.  We just started reading the Word and praying.  God spoke to Marisa (the only girl/ leader) and gave a word to her named lima – so we looked on the map of Guatemala and found a place called San Rosa De Lima.  After a long day's hiking and going through some really perverse towns the last ride we had dropped us in the town San Rosa De Lima at a small shop.  All tired from no food, loads of walking and riding on the back of pickup trucks  we were almost at breaking point, but had faith.  This was around 3pm on the 24th and a shop owner walked to us, because he could speak English and because we were foreigners.  He wanted to practice his English because he said he is the only one in the town that spoke English.   Juwanie was His name and He wanted to know what we did.  Just telling him a little, he replied that he is also a believer in Christ.  Not the religious kind, but a reborn Christian.  He told us that they have a church service that night  at his father in-laws place and invited us – giving us some Pepsi to drink he told us to come back at 6:30 pm. After we explored the town we headed back to them – meeting literally his whole family which is huge – all of them real loving and kind welcoming us with open arm the first time we have been welcomed on our Luke 10 journey.

After the service which took approximately 3 and a half hour we ate with them – praise the lord for the food wow. Had as much as we could eat, stayed up till 00:00 because that was their family tradition Juwanie offered us a place to sleep in his home which was also small but big enough we slept in his Living room on the floor giving us  blankets and mats to lie down –

The next morning we woke up and they severed us with breakfast and just learning about the family we stayed with and they truly served and seeked the lord daily – so we prayed for them and it was the highlight of the journey for us Wow God is great – God gave all three of us the same vision and prophesied for the family and just letting the Spirit of the lord work and after praying for them with loads of tears we left to go back Home to Pananajehl on the 25th.

I will also let you know what I’ve learned out of the hole Luke 10 as soon as there is time – we have very little time for it – about once a week.

Have a Blessed 2011 and my God bless you in abundance.

Shalom
