Northbound arrived safely in Istanbul, Turkey on Wednesday. We were blessed by the presence of Bronwyn and Clara, who have taken up a position of leadership while David and Dunette are absent. We had no definite plans set out for our time in Turkey, but hoped to be invited to go to one of our brothers in Christ’s home church in Adana or go to Kusadasi. Previous GCX teams have served and visited Kusadasi before and the ruins of Ephesus and the early church is also within the city. Just before Clara and Bronwyn left South Africa we received an invitation from the church in Adana to visit them. Financially we could not manage to go to Adana so we took a bus to Kusadasi, but still kept our hearts open to follow God’s will for our journey.
We arrived safely in the beautiful coastal town of Kusadasi on Thursday morning and have been blessed with very affordable accommodation. We are studying Ephesians at the moment and did a prayer walk in the city today. We look forward to God answering our prayers and praying more for His kingdom to reign in Kusadasi and Turkey. We also look forward to God revealing even more of His word in Ephesians to us and visiting Ephesus on Monday.
Adana is next to Tarsus, which is the home town of Paul. God has blessed us with having the opportunity to meet and spend time with a brother in Christ from Adana in South Africa during our training in February. This brother shared his wonderful testimony and gave us very insightful information on the religion and dire need for God in Turkey. We are very thankful that his home church in Adana has prayed about us visiting them and the pastor has been willing to move a conference in order for us to be able to visit the church. We would have a desire to minister, serve, encourage, support, build relationship and pray with an authentic Turkish church in Adana. We want to follow God’s will for our time in Turkey and we believe that we should visit Adana.
We take a step in faith and trust that God will supply the necessary finances for us to be able to travel to and serve in Adana. Please pray and intercede for us.
We need R714 per person for each of our thirteen team members.
