GOD SET US APART FOR 40 DAYS…

If anyone should ask me how GCX08 ended up at FCE’s six week disciple equipping course in the middle of Zambia, my answer would be…

“It is all GOD - our Father who orchestrated this whole thing!  The One who called us and who set us apart.

He knows better than any one of us how much we need these 40 days - days of revelation from our triune God – getting to know Him more and more.  Our Lord Jesus Christ chose these days for us to set us free and to reassure us of the life we now live – the life of Christ in us, the hope of glory (Col 1:21).  In these 40 days the Holy Spirit is moving, He is stirring, He is counseling.  The Holy Spirit convicts and He teaches and He inspires us towards obedience and holy living.  He is our guide and the One who testifies with us – pointing all to the glory of Jesus Christ our living God.  In 40 days God is touching each of our hearts, transforming us by renewing our minds as we long to be living sacrifices to Him – holy and pleasing in our Father’s eyes.”

I can hardly believe that we have only 2 weeks left here in Zambia.  Today, when I drove in to the FCE Masaiti Base from the farm where we have our training, I realized again how far into the bushes we really are.  We are in a place of separation, spending time of solitude with God.  And He is truly working in each of our lives in awesome ways.

All the FCE staff that are serving us and teaching us is amazing!  Their lives and words declare the greatness of Christ in them.  They never hold back in blessing us with all the blessings God has blessed them with.  It is wonderful to see how God is using people who are obedient and sensitive to His will.

 Please pray with us:

·         The teams will be going out to villages for outreaches this week.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide them and for protection.

·         Pray for the protection of our families at home.

·         Pray for wisdom, love and servanthood in leadership.

·         Thank God and pray for blessing upon all of FCE’s staff and ministry – for their health, God’s provision in all their needs, their teachings, and their families.  Pray that God will continue to reveal His perfect plans and purposes for this body.

·         Praise God for the work He is busy with in each of the team members’ lives.  Pray that He will continue the good work He has started (Phil 1:6) and that the team will never want to give up but only give over to God.

·         Pray for the renewing of our minds to be Christ’s body, the church, every day.

·    & nbsp;    Continue to pray for humbleness, unity, love and servanthood in the team.

·         Pray for the ministry setup, accommodation and logistics in the East.  Also that God will prepare the teams for what lies ahead and that He will prepare the way and reveal His strategies for us.  Our desire is to be sensitive to His will and simply walk in obedience, stepping into what He is busy with in each of the towns we will go to.

Love and blessings to you all,

Sulene van Schalkwyk
