Oom Christopher told us during our course in Zambia that God has a special word for each one of His children each day - a unique word; a word He wants to give to you personally; a "daily bread" kind of word.
The question I was confronted with, was whether or not I am there every single day - asking and listening - to receive and realize that word from God in my life? I need to confess that too often I am not. Even though I'm so desperate for it, there are just too many times in my life when I am not really seeking God or spending enough time with Him and in His word to listen and receive what He is dying to give me. Actually... What He HAS died for to give me!
Isn't this exactly what Jesus had died for already? To give us our daily bread - His body, His word - for the Word was with God and the Word was God ( em>John 1:1). Jesus Christ IS the Word of God in person and He has been given to us. If we believe in Him, we need to take hold of Him and take hold of His Word each day - every second of each day. This is what our very lives depend on - the Living Word of God! It needs to be written on our hearts. It needs to be active in our lives. It needs to be our every breath. It needs to fill our thoughts and our dreams and direct our every step.
(In case you were wondering... this blog must be the Lord preaching to Sulene... the Spirit is working because this is not quite what I thought of writing before I came to sit down!)
It's amazing how many scriptures God has highlighted for me in the past week or so on trusting Him and resting in Him. This comforted me and gave me hope and peace in my heart!
But between that, He also showed me how big and awesome and good He is again through words from Job and Psalm 8 and through sermons I 39;ve heard and time I have spent in fellowship with friends.
It's ALL about Him and for Him and in Him and through Him! May His praise forever be on my lips!
(So, what I actually intended to blog... was simply to quote the scriptures God gave me... Here are some of them Psalm 9:10, Phil 1:6, Isaiah 26:3-4, Psalm 55:22, Psalm 56:3-4&13)
