Ever wondered how God would take HIS coffee, like how many sugars, how much milk etc.? I mean a cup of coffee a day keeps the doctor away right? Right or maybe HE doesn’t drink coffee at all uhmmmm? Of lately I’ve found myself wondering about this. I mean being around coffee lovers I have learnt that coffee sets a good tone for the day, it blesses people and so I wanted to bless God. I’ve wanted to make coffee for people in the way I like it but I realised that not everyone likes 3 sugars, a litre of milk and a tinny tiny teaspoon of coffee like I do, I’ve realised how worthless it is blessing someone with a cup of coffee that’s not made in the way in which they like it.
Coming to global challenge has made me ask the question how do I bless GOD, how do I serve HIM. I mean if this is for HIM then HE I ought to know how to serve HIM and how. I need to know what is on HIS heart and what HE wants done and how to do it. When I prayed about India I heard the LORD speak about forbidden love hahahahaha yes just like in the Bollywood movies. God pursues each person here relentlessly, regardless of their background or what altar they stand before or what GOD they bow down to.
So I get to India and am like so LORD, I’m here now where do I fit into your plan? How do I reflect that relentless love? Yet again LORD how do you like your cup of coffee, in my search to find out about GOD’S cup of tea im taken to the story of the prodigal son, once a good friend of mine taught me something by pointing out the role of the servants in this story. The Father tells the servants to prepare for the feast and that is all that is to it. They had no part to play in the forgiveness process they had no right to question the son on how he had spent the money or tell him what he was entitled to since he came back. They couldn’t judge him but they had to kill the fattened calf to get the preparations ready so that the Father could celebrate HIS sons return. That got to me. Many times we think ministry is about being like the elder brother and querying the celebration sometimes even deciding how the Father should forgive and whom and when… maybe making that cup of coffee with three sugars again…….
So I want to bless GOD serve HIM and pursue HIS heart I’ve realised I need to listen and obey. Today yet again I sat and asked GOD so Lord now that im at the orphanage could you please tell me how to serve you and I realised it’s HIS wedding im the best man I need to help arrange but the capturing of the brides heart lies with the GROOM it’s HIS story to tell, I need to listen and obey. When we got to India GOD said the curtain is torn and that HE wanted to meet HIS people face to face that they may encounter HIM so that they will never forget so that when we leave they will still know GOD because they have seen HIM. This made me think of JESUS on the donkey and the palm leaves if I am to be a palm leaf so that the word can be fulfilled then so be it. The most important thing is to bless GOD with HIS cup of tea, made in the way that HE wants, that HE may drink and be blessed. So as we serve may we pause and ask GOD, LORD how do YOU like YOUR coffee…

this is beautiful! the Lord is doing such a great work! think it speaks to a life of obedience...that we live a life as an outflow of our intimacy with Him because then everything that we do is in the heart of the Father...then we will love people the way that He loves them and serve Him in a way that pleases Him like Jesus! thuli i miss your epicness in D group....praying for you, that you don't get stuck in your head but that your hands find a way to outwork what God is teaching you...you know obey the word as you are a palm leave. love you man!
