9 February 2008
So we got the good news that we have off this weekend, to rest our minds from all the impact it got from the past two weeks, during the discipleship training that ends in March, but I am really excited for the training that is still to come. Our team did go through a lot of experiences during these two weeks that set as at a point to rethink our expectations for Global Challenge X 2008.
I am really excited for the countries that we will still visit. But I do believe that God had to take us through this training for that, which is still to come.
I believe after these 6 weeks at FCE we will be ready for whatever comes our way.Last night we had a Boys night out, we actually went to the barn for a Braai, just to have some alone time to give our minds a second rest from all the...........it was allllllllot of fun, we sat around a small fire in the bush with no noise, clean air and with the smell of rain and then later on, the smell of steak. I must say that was a well deserved steak after 2 weeks. As we finished, FCE asked the guys if we could help them to fix their Bridge that enables them to get to the base and to the town for supplies. There is a very high amount of rainfall from Nov-March in Zambia. They say that the average rainfall during these 4 months is 1600mm, and I know that you know that that is a lot of rain, hey? So the bridge flushed away, I was really excited for this work to give my hands their desire to work. We had a great time there as well and it was so great to work nearby the villages. I saw the most adorable little kids just waving at us and seeing them smile as we wave back. The work was pretty hard but any work that is not hard isn’t worth it, so after a few blisters and the nice swim in the river it started to pour down again, and we were still a good 5km from the farm that we were staying at. These Zambian raindrops can almost fill your mouth, so we got a little bit wet not such a big deal, we had more fun because that is when the sports started.
After this big day arriving at the farm we got to go for a nice warm shower and get ourselves clean and dry again. I got sometime to lie down and rest for a while, but know I have to go again and prepare dinner because I am on Kitchen duty. But I will try to blog again soon; I just feel that there isn’t much happening yet, because we are still in training I feel that the real thing starts when we get on that flight to China. Can’t wait!! Tonight we are going to watch a movie as a big team together, so please pray for the generator and please pray for the weeks of training that is still to come, as well as the teachers and finances that is still needed, thanks a lot!!
Blessings and lots of Love
