As we swerve threw the mountains on a Local bus, with my hands on the handles, excitement and frustration in my head passing the mosques on our way to our next destination!
On our way here to our third town was a big eye-opener for me, because I knew that China was muslim possessed, but I didn’t know that there would be so many mosques around every corner. I counted more than 20 Mosques on our way here, there’s even mosques where there is only two houses. It’s like every family has its own mosque! It was really sad for me, because I am looking at people that might’ve never heard of the Good News of Christ. So I am wondering how in the world will we be able to reach all these people it is impossible or it just is one huge mission, so my leader Wesley told me the story of Jesus feeding the 5000 again. I just noticed that we might just have this little amount of wisdom but Christ have so much more and nothing is impossible for Him and I mean I’ve known that since I accepted Christ, but being in the battle field is different. Please
pray for us, for every soul that we meet that he/she will experience the true Love of Jesus Christ. And that they will just be overwhelmed with Him!!
On our way we met a man on the bus, who spoke a little bit of English. He was just so generous and so kind. He invited us to his home for supper, and he really wanted us to meet his son, he just kept on telling us about his son and how his English is better than his. So we took the invitation not that we thought twice since he asked us cause this is a opportunity to build new relationships! And that’s our goal. So my excitement was just improving, because I love meeting new people. It was a pretty far walk from the bus stop to his home, felt far probably because of our heavy backpacks. We arrived at his home and his wife didn’t even know that we were coming and she just started preparing food. (Not many people in South-Africa would just invite a total stranger in their home for supper, would we?).
The supper was a lot
different to our local food in SA, and to any other meals we’ve had in China, but it was really delicious. We had the famous Chinese dumplings, meat, vegetables, etc. and some green tea. So we were sitting there waiting for his son and it was really interesting, we couldn’t communicate many words. But I could really feel their care towards us and how helpful they were. He even walked with us after supper to a Hotel to help us get a room. His son arrived on our way out so he came with, and he just kept on asking if we like basketball and if we would like to join him the next day for a game? I accepted the offer; it was really weird I felt like a little boy again, I was so excited about the game that was to come.
The big day started; first he said he will come and get us at noon, well Chinese people is always like 3hours early! So when he arrived Wesley and I were still busy eating our noodles, which was the day that I think I made a new record for South African eating noodles with
chopsticks. Then we went for some exhausting Basketball, because they just don’t want to give me a break! They just keep on keeping on!
After an exhausting day we had some friends that invited us to dinner, again!! We had an awesome traditional meal, again! The people are just so friendly! I am really Loving China!! It is hard though the way we travel and stay. The people can’t speak English where we go, or the majority can’t. My blogs is a little bit out of date but I am trying!
Until next time
Love Tjaart!
