So on the 14 August the team left Panama for Brazil where they were on their Luke 10. In this time I stayed in Panama after I felt God putting it on my heart to pray for the team as they travel. So we joined up again after 10 days, each with different experiences and testimonies.
So after these 10 days our ministry officially started in Brazil and we had to split up again, with ministry at 2 different places. Six of the team made there way to Sao Paulo and the other 4 to Vitoria da Conquista. I was with the 4 and wow did we go on a faith journey. Except that the teams finance wasn't looking very good, we also only had one bank card between the 10 of us and with the split, it made things difficult.
The 4 of us only received a amount of money for the 10 days and the others had the card and the rest of the money. When we started traveling we realized our funds was not going to be enough. We used most of our money to buy flight tickets to Salvador (only had $50 left for the 10 days). Looking at a map it looked like a 3 hour travel form there to Victoria da Conquista, where we had to be. We thought it will be easy to hitch hike. Once we arrived in Salvador we only realized that it is a 8 hour bus trip from there. But we knew we had to be there, so we knew God will arrange all of the other things for us.
With a lot of communication with the pastor waiting for us in Vitoria da Conquista, he arranged that we stay with one of his friends (also a pastor) in Salvador for the night. This pastor took us in his house, showed us Salvador and bought each one of us a gift from Salvador and in the end decided to buy our bus tickets to Vitoria da Conquista, so no hitch-hiking needed. We also had a great time of worship with him and his family.
So 3 days later we arrived in Vitoria da Conquista, with $50 left for the week and not knowing how we will get back to Sao Paulo for our flight to India. This is where the abundance started. We ended up staying with 3 different families for the time where we were blessed with great fellowship, a roof over our heads and more that enough food. The members in the church also blessed us so much. They would buy us new clothes, handbags, shampoo, shower gels, toothpaste etc. The 3 girls (myself, Ane and Marguerite) was also blessed with a day at a salon with new hair cuts and facials. This was only the start...
Our ministry time was very limited. The pastor that invited us had a weekend of teaching on prophetic ministry. We would get the opportunity afterwards to pray prophetically for the people that came up. We loved this so much and really wished we could have more time for it. We also held a service on the street the Sunday afternoon, in one of the poorest areas. Here you could just feel the presence of the Lord and it was truly special. We also visited a orphanage the one afternoon, playing with the kids, singing and dancing and sharing some Word with them.
The Sunday we spoke as a team and realized that we would have to start hitch-hiking to Sao Paulo on the Monday to be in time for our flight the Wednesday evening. But God had different plans, because He would arrange ministry opportunities for us that day when we wanted to hike. In the end the church had a offering for us to take us back to Salvador (8 hours drive) and buy us flight tickets back to Sao Paulo. All in time for our flight. Yes God completely surprised us there every day!!!
For me I realized that we need to give God more opportunities to show Himself to us. He wants to, but because of every day life He doesn't get the change to show Himself great and we love putting Him in a box. 2 Cron 16:9 " For the eyes of the Lord runs to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him". This scripture I never want to forget and have been one of the verses that carried me through this year. He wants to show Himself to us, we just need to take the step of faith and He will show up...
