A good friend once said that you can live a lifetime reading books or you could spend a lifetime worth writing about. Here i like to write about my experiences with my team and the people that we meet.

Isreal: The Beautiful Land

One night in Amman
We flew to freezing cold Jordan from hot South Africa and had to get to Isreal from there. It was getting late and we knew that the border was going to close soon. So we just planned to sleep in the airport and go to the border first thing the next morning.
As we arranged transport for the next day with a man he invited us to go sleep in his summerhouse for the evening. He took us to the house, got some gas to heat the house with a heater and even gave us some tea and sugar. The one girl in my team mentioned that this taught her so much about the Father's heart because He provided a warm place to sleep without us even asking for it. (We were planning to sleep in the airport remember)

Our time in Betlehem
Two Coptic Nuns hosted us in Betlehem and blessed us so much with food and accommodation.
When we arrived in Betlehem it was rainy and cold. There was no work to be done in such weather so our team stayed indoors with cups of tea and warm blankets. There was plenty of time to spend in the word or just sit together as a team.
When the sun started to shine we worked in their vegetable garden. Someone back home told me that if I am teachable then even cleaning floors will teach me something. This was true :) Five days of pulling out weeds taught be that if my heart is soft God will be able to uproot all the weeds in my heart. He will even send the rain to soften my heart. Gracefull, is He not? :)

"We run where Jesus walked"
In Jerusalem we were privileged to see some awesome sites and meet beautiful people. A family from a ministry called Bridges for Peace invited us to spend a day with them and sleep over at their house on our way from Betlehem to the See of Galilee. They blessed us with so much more than physical blessings. Their surrounded lives and passion encouraged us and set my heart on fire. The Body of Christ is His church and His bride and has something in common: a love for Jesus.

The See of Galilee
Wow! The first day we walked about 5 hours with our backpacks to find a camping spot. The next day we walked some more to the next camping spot. But we had a swim, a rest and the most beautiful view!!

Wrapping it up
During these first few weeks I learned so much. There is no chance that I could ever be the same. Jesus, the Messiah is the Son of God. He is God that became flesh for our salvation. Jesus laughed with His disciples, He ate, He danced and sang. The Lord that we serve is a happy God...He is not a miserable God that seeks to punish people. Each member of my team is significant to the journey I'll have during the rest of the year and I love my team so much.

We will be in Jordan for the next few weeks serving with a church that supports Syrian Refugees. On the first day we visited a girl that came to Jordan without her family because her spinal cord was damaged during a bombing in Syria. She is paralysed now but we serve a God that can heal. Please pray for the Syrian people when the Holy Spirit reminds you of the. They are broken and desperate but there is so much hope in Jesus. May they see Him. :))
