A few days ago our team went to the Simon Bolivar Park in Santa Marta, expectant to see God move through our dramas and Fred's testimony. Near to the end of the Broken drama a young girl walked past us and turned back to see what is going on. As she sat down our eyes met for a few seconds and God being so excited with her being there, as if saying "Yes, yes, she's here !!!" Man, God was going to do something big... After our program I immediately felt compelled to go to her and not long afterwards...

It is a rainy Sunday in Guatemala today...out of the quietness inside of me I feel this strange urge to write a blog! So with my cup of tea and blanket, I am starting to write something about something that I haven't thought through at all...it's a new thing for me! But truth is, that is what this whole journey with God has been like for me, up to this point at least! Out of everything, I could not figure anything out beforehand or plan it into detail, I cannot control it or understand it, and in some cases I...
I guess when God gives you a vision for something.. It’s because HE wants to do something... Even though it sound absurd, obeying might just blow your mind.. So middle 2012 I had to raise money for my journey in 2013 from SCRATCH.. God gave me an idea to make about 1000 matchboxes with my details and the following slogan.. “Take a matchbox and help me lighten a dark world with God’s light..” I didn’t think that God was literal about it.. So I handed out these boxes, spreading it all around and trusting that God would open people’s hearts...
Our Luke 10 journey in Ecuador...where do I start? What do I say? You see, I feel like I’m a five year old, standing in front of a wall sized puzzle, trying to chose one single piece to describe. It is like having the menus of Mac Donald’s , KFC, Burger King, Subway and Cinnabon in front of you and you have to decide on one favourite meal! So, with that said, please understand that there is so much more to this testimony than I could ever try and blog about…because this is about God! I mean the Limitless, All-knowing,...
Finifugal used to simply be one of those pretty words that sounded cool if one of my english friends used it in a sentence. Little did I know that this word, that sounded like some or other Asian dish in one of Eastbound's stories, would gain meaning and reveal one of my hearts greatest fears. It is used to describe a person who fears endings, who tries to avoid the final moments of a story, relationship or some memorable journey. Someone who runs from goodbyes and prolong the ending of a good book. I used to be a finifugal traveler....
First of, hello from this, my new blog with which I'll be sharing some of my experiences of the journey that I'm partaking in this year. This first entry is a short synopsis of what has precluded this journey and also what has happened thus far. After having to say goodbye to a significant other in my life I also tried to say goodbye to the world... Fortunately God had other plans for me and decided I should stay a little while longer. This is when I had reached the lowest point of time in my life and I finally embraced...
The past 6 weeks have consisted of two countries multiple flights, taxis, busses, motorbikes, Trans Jogja journeys, Jeepney, ferry and multi-cab rides. Blessings in abundance, amazing people, challenging ministry, victory and freedom, struggles and breakthrough. It has been an intense growing and incredible time seeing God bless and provide in an over abundance in Indonesia too a crazy 118 hour travelling story involving a ferry ride and the story of the mirical snack packet too a challenging but incredible experience in the Philippines. Never doubt that God is a good Father. INDONESIA The place, Indonesia in a Muslim nation, with...
Three weeks ago we arrived in Jeffreys Bay, backpacks containing all the belongings that we will need for the year on our backs, mentally and physically ready to begin with training for our Global Challenge Expedition 2015:) During the first couple of days we were introduced to the Global community. By sharing amazing stories about what God has done in and through their lives all over the world they imparted to us their heart for the nations and a new excitement to see how God wants to love His children across the globe. On day five we received...
To you, the school of the nations This is a thank you. Or an attempt at acknowledgement. To the countless faces and people that I have crossed paths with in the past few years. I once heard a sermon of the way that we are rocks on a river bed, being tossed and turned and swept downstream. And as we bump shoulders with one another, a forming takes place. God determines the length and the depth but still - we are formed in different ways by the people around us. Words cannot describe the forming that has...
The Global Challenge Expeditions Team of 2015 has created an initiative to increase financial support, called the Break an Egg, Build a School Challenge . This challenge is to create a video of you breaking an egg in a creative way and donate at www.gcex.org or at your local bank. Post your video on a social media website and nominate 5 friends to do the same! You are welcome to donate without participating in the challenge. Three classrooms. Seven days. Thirty-six students. One inspired vision. Our team has the privilege to advance classrooms which will prepare leaders who will reach...
You never know what you can live without until you have to carry everything in one bag on your back -JS This week has been the craziest and probably most frustrating time of my entire life, we didn't get our Macedonia visas and had to come to Israel earlier. I have never felt the need to make notes of what happens to me until I experienced this week and knew I had to tell you guys all about it. I am currently sitting in my tent and decided I HAVE to write. Everything I am using now fits into my...
Canada We are now in Canadian air space and as we look down we see no snow what so ever!! BIG disappointment as in our minds Canada “is” snow. After n little speed bump at customs we were picked up and drove to Ignite Camp and Retreat Center the place we would call home for the next month and a half. After all “formalities” were done and over with we got settled in, and we were overjoyed at all the freedom we had. We stayed in our own cabin hidden in the “woods”, in the kitchen we had a...
Cuba Luke 10 Journey Our time in Mexico has come to an end and we’re waiting for our flight from Cancun Airport to Cuba. We’re sitting at a table playing cards. Geoff’s telling us that the pastor in Cuba did not come back to him and that the Lord has leaded him to that we do a Luke 10 Journey instead. I’m to team up with Vilandre and Geoff with Quinton. We arrive in Cuba 3pm the morning and to save some money we slept on the airport and took a taxi to a guest house at 7pm. We...
One night in Amman We flew to freezing cold Jordan from hot South Africa and had to get to Isreal from there. It was getting late and we knew that the border was going to close soon. So we just planned to sleep in the airport and go to the border first thing the next morning. As we arranged transport for the next day with a man he invited us to go sleep in his summerhouse for the evening. He took us to the house, got some gas to heat the house with a heater and even gave us some...
Many of times we hear how much God loves us and wish nothing but the best for all his children; the ones that know his love and the ones that don’t know it as much. Looking back at my life, knowing all the wrong that I have done to others and myself, I’ve said and done things that I will always be ashamed of, the worst was not knowing if I am really forgiven. I’ve read the scripters and have said the words out loud, but still every detail of my past was not forgiven; well at least not all,...
Ahh Middle East, what an awesome place! I'm so stoked that I had the privilege of serving the people of crossroads. I'm really liking the tea a lot it's like a mix between rooibos and normal tea, it's perfect! I thought that we would be doing intense physical labor, but actually we just helped out with whatever needed to be done! Us guys got to play soccer with the kids every Saturday but because their culture requires men to wear pants we had to play in our jeans, and that made things a bit heated, and these kids completely wrecked...
