Date: 16 May 2009 Place: Kusadasi, Turkey to Panajachel, Guatemala   Kusadasi, Turkey What difference can one make into someone´s life? By a simple smile OR a hand of support OR just a friendly ´Meraba´ (Turkish) OR ´Hola´ (Spanish)? Before departing for Guatemala, we knew we left a significant mark in Turkey. The city of Kusadasi in Turkey does not know how much they are missing...the love of Jesus Christ. During our stay in Kusadasi we met some young Muslim guys and we had great times playing rugby and fellowshipping. We also invited them to our evening Bible studies and...

Nazareth, one life changed forever.

Nazareth, one life changed forever.
Date: 04 April 2009 Place: Nazaret Village, Israel   Nazareth, the town where Jesus grew up and where I was reminded about the Great Love of Jesus Christ. We have visited a place called Nazareth Village. in this Village you will experience how people lived in the time Jesus walked on earth. It was a great privilege to experience their way of living…   A typical work place... During our tour though the village it just gripped my heart to reflex on His crucifixion yet again. The hours and hours of torture He endured that led to be nailed hanging...

The Challenge begins...a journey with God

The Challenge begins...a journey with God
Date: 25 January 2009 Place: Jeffrey's bay, South Africa   We have started the year's journey with the first two weeks in Jeffrey's bay. I had to learn that I am leaving everything behind. Everything that I have built up for the last couple of years... my friends, the comfort of my home, the safe environment and everything that is familiar to me. The hardest part for me by commencing on this journey is to leave everything in the hands of God and to trust God completely for His provision... a huge step of Faith... and also a new chapter...

God Provides...walking in faith!

God Provides...walking in faith!
Date: 23 February 2009 Place: Transkei / Alabanza, South Africa   Our last couple of weeks of preparations was very blessed by a visit from Joe of Scotland, a great man and prophet of God. He taught us of Spiritual Gifts, especially the gift of Faith. In impossible moments our Lord will show His countenance before man who earnestly seeks Him. With these weeks of getting ready, my last hope of getting the necessary funds were getting low... no matter what we do, it is only the Lord who knows what we need and when we need it. The departure...

Egypt, the single 'good' heart

Egypt, the single 'good' heart
Date: 02 March 2009 Place: Anafora / Cairo, Egypt   Our time in Egypt began with a climate shock. We expected to experience warm weather conditions, but instead our layers of jackets emerged. During the first few days we stayed 50km outside of Cairo, called Anafora, studying and dwelling into the Bible. Learning so much about our great God. Then we left for Cairo.. and experienced Cairo to the fullest in the first 2 days. These 2 days we explored the city and experienced the Egyptians way of living… also looking for a souvenir. We had close encounters with their...

The 'war' in Turkey

The 'war' in Turkey
Date: 23 April 2009 Place: Kusadasi / Efese, Turkey   This morning I was reminded of when Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. He also took his disciples with Him and asked them to intercede for Him. That night Jesus stood before the biggest event that was about to happen in history!! An event that is remembered by those who loves Jesus and dismissed by many others. During this time we as team was reminded of Ephesians 6. About the Spiritual war that we face every day but also about the Lord's armour that protects us. How...

From Nazareth to Tiberias...and an Israel Challenge

From Nazareth to Tiberias...and an Israel Challenge
Date:  06 April 2009 Place: Nazareth / Tiberias, Israel   Our time here in Israel is almost coming to an end... It was a very special journey for me to learn more of the Old and New Testament. Experiencing and seeing it as described in the Bible. In this time here our group was challenged to learn more about the Persian Empire; while the other two groups looked at the Babylonian and the Assyrian Empires. A person can’t also travel through Israel without looking back on Jesus's life stories by following the footsteps of Jesus, physically throughout the country. There...

Hungry Egypt and saying goodbye.

Hungry Egypt and saying goodbye.
Date: 07 March 2009 Place: Dahub, Egypt   Our time here in Egypt came almost at an end. It was a wonderful experience, meeting some great Egyptian people, learning their culture and understanding the Moslem religion. The last few days we also discussed how to approach Moslems and to show them in their own Koran that Jesus is the Way and the Absolute Truth! What struck me most about the Moslem people are that they extremely hungry for real and authentic friendships. One of these people I've met, was a man I started to chat with on a bus in...

Working in Bethlehem

Working in Bethlehem
Date: 24 March 2009 Place: Bethlehem, Israel   We are almost completing our time here in Bethlehem. In this ancient city, we have been working very hard at a church where two nuns are living. Centuries back the persecuted Christians dug and built caves underneath buildings to hide away from their persecutors. One such building is the old church where we stayed and worked. We were so blessed by the two nuns at the church. They took us in their home and cared for us. In return we assisted them around the home, being a blessing to each other. A...
