I feel invincible. God is really forcing us to trust Him. We have no other choice. We have no money for accommodation, we bumb showers in restaurants' basins (and get chased out. No jokes. We ran) then we hardly have money for food. We are hungry, dirty, robbed, homeless, then a biker passes us and asks if we want to volunteer on his uncle's olive farm? Where we will have free accommodation, food and live like royalty. In a matter of 3 days we can look, smell and feel like bergies and next moment we enjoy the beautiful tranquility...

Macedonia was beautiful. We were received with open South African arms and felt so at home, but the atmosphere changed when we entered the colorless Tavanoche camp. By the time we reached Macedonia most of the refugees had traveled on and it was only those without money or with children that were left. It was hard to lift spirits without even being able to communicate. So we fully relied on God. It was inspiring to see how people are obedient to God even if it was to their expense. We expected life for missionaries would be careless and fun. It...
Since Kosovo, our team has stepped into a musical. The absence of wifi and the presence of lovely hosts made the difference. We had a lot of freedom to spend time with Christ and grow in unity. It was a healing and strengthening time there and not at all a disappointment. The fact that we could not go to China is long forgotten, because we truly believe God wanted us in Kosovo. Our hosts admitted to wishing for help and knowing God used us to show them He hears their prayers even before they pray them, means the world. We...
Knowing God means being exposed to supernatural knowledge and deeds. I cannot believe I was so blind to think any of this could be boring? But then again i could not see without Him opening my eyes. So if you are reading this and you do not understand or you think God is boring, just do yourself a favor and ask for ears to hear and eyes to see. It is not a worldly experience. Of course it is not because God is not an earthly being. He is not what we have made Him to be. His ways are...
We have had to do with many missionaries this year and every time we meet another couple i come to realize the feeling i have towards them is pity. Do you feel like you are fulfilling your purpose? Are you sorry you are not living the American dream? Are you lonely? Do you feel like you have done meaningful things? Are you content? Is this home for you? Would you go back? Do you have true friends? These are the questions I could finally sum up and I see now that it showed how backward my perception is. 1John...
Good day! Jerusalem was beautiful and it was special to see where Jesus was, but I honestly enjoyed Bethlehem, on the other side of the wall, more. At both stops, we did a lot of gardening. Goodness, I never thought there could be so many metaphors with pulling out roots of weeds. I started dreaming about it even. Luckily I love gardening and find it to be therapeutic. In Bethlehem we lived with three stunning nuns, who changed my pre-conceived idea about nuns. At all of the ministry points we have gone so far there have been extremely effective women....
Learning to love differences. I always took a lot of pride in believing I was a supporter of diversity. I have only now started realizing how deep the differences lay and how often we are offended, reason being this ignorance. We did a temperament test a while a go, that changed my perception sooo much! On that note, Oh how I've learnt to love oblivion. One of the Love's sweetest way of loving us is to humble us. "There is in fact more to life than you know" There is more to hope for. Once again...
I am so scared of using christianese. I used to judge people who used the word "journey" and "blessing". For me it was death! But now I'm starting to get there! So funny! I asked God to please take away my "judger". And ever since then, when I judge somebody for a characteristic, I get the characteristic #
In Australia I was very challenged with the matter of where I find my identity. What makes up a person's personality? Is it the music you listen to or you fashion choices? Your likes and dislikes and what you have strong opinions over? Where you stand in social circles and the trend you fall under? Is it what others would sum you up as or what they point out? Is it their enjoyment of you or their trust in you? God is a good Father, but not only in a way we understand. He is a upside down God. His...
You can develop a healthy robust community that lives right with God only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other with honor and dignity. -James 3:18 I have heard missionaries say one of the hardest things they have dealt with and one of the biggest reasons why missionaries give up is other missionaries. Jesus asks us to love and we think it sweet, untill... -The dishes never gets done -Your spend hours cooking and they have the nerve to give you cooking tips and comments on how loud you are in the...
