My Journey South

My Journey South
My journey South The ink of this skilful writer became dry but the time has come to fill this page with words that proclaim His Glory! The journey started South with a team showing fruit of faith and obedience. We did an extreme overland hitch hike from Mendoza, Argentina to Lima Peru.   This journey took us 4-6 days! On the border of Chile the Lord reminded me of these words I spoke a few days ago:” All that I desire is to know Your word and walk in Your presence!”  The great test came when my day bag, with EVERYTHING...

Waiting @ Basecamp!

Waiting @ Basecamp!
Basecamp!! Many bright tents with different brands are pitched behind a sanddune @ the Jeffreysbay Caravan Park! Young people from all over South Africa have gathered to prepare and pray for the journey of a lifetime.   Like the Isrealites pitched their tents in the desert and waited for God's presence to come down in a cloud or fire so the Global Challenge Expeditions wait for God at the base of the 2009 before they go into the Nations. We are all very excited and with a huge expectation we wait to see what amazing work God is going to...

Running like the Mayans

Running like the Mayans
"Hou bene hou!" Running a race has always been lots of fun but having the oppertunity to run with the Mayan people has been one of the highlights of this year.  The six of us; Hector, Paul, Tiaan, Marisa, me and Tobi ran a 8km race here in Panajachel   We only started the race at 11:00am the morning so the sun was  scorching   hot, the  toughest challenge. We were all very excited and enjoyed the day in the sun with the local people.  Just to say that these people run up a mountain  like we run a downhill.  They spend most...

Dare to share

Dare to share
New Zealand   I am truly convinced that the beauty of the world was cut into pieces and then God puzzled them together in the shape of an Island, New Zealand. I watched a documentary of a helicopter flying over the South Island that revealed places and beauty that no man has set foot on.  " The South Island is a mountainous Island.  As far as the eye can reach nothing is to be seen but the summits of these rocky mountains.  These mountains seem to lie so close to each other the valleys between them fade in the eye...

They are worth it!!

They are worth it!!
The headlights of the bus lightened the entrance to the orphanage and a young boy ran to open the gate. As the door of the bus opened my heart replayed well kept memories; I am where my heart is. Standing and embracing the moment I dared to look around to find familiar things, children and or faces. Behind me I saw his smile, joyful and alive. “You are here”, I exclaimed! Lun the Kitchen boy, my boy came to greet me. Having no contact for more than a year I was hoping he was still here. With no time wasted...

The dust and the ash have settled.

Archie sharing his story...The dust and the ash have settled and the valley of Red Hill is showing signs of life.  Beautiful homes are currently been built and as we prepare to lay the foundation of "ouma" Nothukeni's home the Holy Spirit is preparing their hearts to receive the Word.

On Thursday night we had a celebration.  We organized a fellowship with the Red Hill community: prepared "pap" and chicken for dinner; sang songs of praises and then we had a few people from CPX share their testimony and explain to the people why we decided to embrace the Red Hill project. We also gave the people of Red Hill the opportunity to share their stories
