But Jesus replied, "My Father is always working, and so am I." -John 5:17 This is a famous verse that a lot of people know and I have heard it multiple times in my life. But only in Russia I truely believed and saw God's work in action. It all began in the streets of Moscow after a long day of walking to get our visas for Cuba. I got a picture in my head and immediately knew it came from God. I loved that God is still speaking to me, but in a way I was a bit scared...

While we were in Lima(Peru) we had to drive to Jicamarca with a public bus just about everyday. It's about an hour's drive depending on the days traffic . On our way there Pastor George would tell us to sing a song. We would sing "Open the eyes of my heart, Lord" in English and Spanish. After the song he would point to one of the team members and ask that person to share a testimony. That was quite an interesting experience to stand up in a bus full of people and start sharing. This continued untill we got to...
The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. Psalms 23:1 NLT I read The Heavenly Man and realized what it meant to live a life knowing that God is all that we need. Brother Yun (The Heavenly Man) went through the most difficult situations. He was thrown into prison 3 times and there he was treated horribly. He was tortured and starved and through it all he still sang praises to God with a joyful heart. He had nothing to hold on to except God. And that was enough. That is how he made it day after...
I've recently been given the opportunity to enter the households of several Syrian refugees. This concept might seem frightening or uncomfortable to most, but some men and women actually travel from all across the world to come and play a part in this global crisis. I've even had the privilege of getting to know a few volunteers whom have commited themselves to serving these households on a more permanent base. For myself, however, it's been an encounter with the reality of the situation in the Middle East - and not just the pictures we watch on a screen from the...
"A bird's not defined by being grounded but by his ability to fly. Remember this, humans are not defined by their limitations, but by the intentions that I (God) have for them." - The Shack I was busy reading this part in the book and it reminded me of something beautiful. It is all about love and relationship with God and we can have this because it already exists in God Himself. I had so many prophecies over my life about love and that love is my way to connect with people. It also brings peaceful atmosphere. Well...It is definitely...
The city of speedbumps filled with skeleton structures kite decorated skies and strawberries on the sides, the smell of shawarmas hanging in the air and falafels that you can find everywhere. Experiencing the joy of kids in the midts of their circumstances, slowly steeling our hearts as they share their past. Drinking bitter coffee while suppressing our expressions, miming out conversations and sharing our traditions. Sharpening our ping pong skills but still losing against the locals, ending the days sharing some laughters sunsets and kanafeh playing monopoly and drinking coffee. Where strangers became friends and friends became family on a...
Jesus is not a franchise There is this saying that my dad would often say, “Jesus is not a franchise”. It never made much sense to me but recently I was confronted with a thought that made me think about it. We all worship God and we all love Jesus but our faith so easily becomes religious practice. I hear people make statements about Jesus and I find myself wondering if they realise what they are saying. Don’t get me wrong, my intention is not to judge people’s hearts, but rather take a look at my own. During our time...
I'm in a different country with different habits surrounded by different cultures and beliefs as well as a language I don't understand. The one thing our people do have in common though is Tea. The people here love tea. I'm more of a coffee person myself. For them tea is a social event that has to take place numerous times a day. I've had so much tea now that if I were to be a cup, I'd be bottomless. Once I put my cup down, they take it as a signal that they should pour more tea into the cup....
So we've finally made it to our first destination, the ancient nation of Egypt. Where thankfully there are no plagues at this time of the year. We were very warmly welcomed by the hosts of Anafora, who consists of a team of the most welcoming people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Immediately upon arrival we were fed the most delicious traditional Egyptian food and given warm beds. We are blessed enough to work with an incredibly friendly man named Nasar (as also indicated by his tattoo on his hand) , who also does not speak a single word...
Always smiling. Always happy to see us. Waving with pure excitement. The people's unconditional love for us was really something to experience. God blessed us with an amazing time in Anafora. We worked hard; digging holes, building fences, chiseling pictures into a wall and much more. We spent a lot of time with some of the people working with us, getting to know them although we couldn't speak each others languages. We laughed a lot. We had a prayer meeting in the church every night at 8. It was amazing. We sang together and then we read a...
