Hallelujah! A 5 day lay over in India! Perfect for a little break, a lot of sleep and of course, exploring. So what's our budget? R1500 for 9 people. Not each. All together, inclusive of food, accommodation and travel. No sweat. Actually, a lot of sweat, this is India, the heat and humidity is next level!
Off we go, out the airport, 20kg on our backs, 5kgs on our fronts, ready to walk a short 2.5km to our hostel in the blistering heat. As we turn a corner, a taxi offers us a ride and calls his mate to assist. Free of charge. Even showed us around a bit. We arrive at our destination but are turned away due to the fact that we are not all male. (The website didn't declare its gender specifications.) A further 2.5km of accommodation searching ensued. Plan B. A couch surfing dude that had turned us away agreed to allow us to stay a night so we could find our feet the next day. This legend of a man, came with us almost daily throughout our stay, basically being our tour guide, translator and a part of our team.
One of our train rides had a divine appointment on it. We met a lady who offered for us to stay with her. Later on she had arranged with another couch surfer she new of, to meet up so that he could investigate that we were legit.
Him and his wife took us in with open arms, fed us traditional breakfasts, watched movies with us, told us about traditions, their culture, the gods, printed us post cards with all of us and even brought a cake from their shop to celebrate all the birthday's throughout the year. What more could you have asked for? God just provided over and over again. He arranged the divine appointments. He got us where we needed to be. And we didn't have to worry about one thing. And we still don't, and I think that's the point.
Matthew 6:26-27 NLT Look at the birds. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren't you far more valuable to Him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life.
Your dad, created the universe. He created You. He loves you more than you could even begin to fathom. So really, what are you worried about again?
