An extended stay in Macedonia

"During the night, Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and pleading with him, "Come over to Macedonia and help us."

- Acts 19:9

What would've been a fifteen day stay turned into a 27 day visit. This ultimately means we're skipping our Turkey leg of the journey. All for good reason because the Lord is in complete control. Although, at the moment we don't see in full we know God will reveal the reason of our extended stay to us soon.

We, as a team realise God has a bigger plan and purpose for us here. In regards to the relationships we're building with both locals and the refugees we can comprehend why we're staying. Our relationships here are starting to grow and flourish as we really become part of people's lives (as much as they are becoming a part of ours!). A deep love for each other is being cultivated and if we had left earlier we know this would've been cut short.

Furthermore we are thankful that God has allowed us to stay longer. What we see and experience is that Macedonia along with most countries in Europe are closing their borders and shutting the world out (this is why we think Hidden World's visas got denied). The feeling here is that slowly but surely the refugees are being fenced in only to be forgotten.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, we urge you also to pray for this nation and the refugees. The forces of darkness rage on but that causes the love of Christ to rage on even fiercer. We can testify of this as we continue to work at Tabanovce, the refugee camp. Because there is light, more is exposed and the darkness can be no more. The light we are currently shining is attracting many to the truth of Jesus, but also the enemy to hinder what we are doing. Pray that this light will shine even brighter as darkness becomes more evident.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ."

- 2 Cor. 1:3-5
