Learning to rest in God

Our Chile journey started after arriving at the airport and we immediately knew who our host family was: the crowd jumping up and down with smiles brighter than the nightsky of Santiago greeting us with their warm hearts.

We arrived with a mission...a mission to serve but we got served instead.  We learned the true meaning of tranquilo (chilean word for relaxing).  We met Santiago, a grey city with colourful people in such a need of God's unfailing love.  For a brief moment it felt like how a city like that can be changed, its impossible, but God reminded us that nothing is impossible for Him.  We also realized that there is so much we still have to learn about friendship and family in church as we discover how to church is supposed to be.  We were overwhelmed by the love of the people and God's love for them. God literally shook Chile with His love to bring them to their knees, in our time in Santiago we experienced two earthquackes one that was 7.1 on the richters scale.

Although there was extreme language barriers we learned that neither time nor language can stop a friendship growing when God is the center point.  We had a lot of free time recapping on the two busy months of training, a time to intercede for Chile and literally proclaiming His name from the rooftops!

Psalm 33 speaks of God's unfailing love and the last few verses sums up what we have learned in Chile. Verse 20-22; "we put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. And in o

Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His Holy name. Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone."

We as a team are still challenged financially, but after Chile we are certain that our God is a God who provides, and may all who reads this remember that God's love is unfailling.
