Lime Team - What a challenge!!
29 April 2008
The last few days was absolutley crazy. We had a challenge for 3 days and were running around Kulala Lumpur, in the HEAT.
It all started early morning...
The challenge started at FRIM, Forrest Research Institute of Malaysia, on Friday morning and finished late Sunday afternoon at the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur. We first checked into a hotel to leave our luggage and started with the tasks for the day: We visited Kompleks Budaya Kraft where we designed a team emblem and made a Batik painting of it, we took a range of sunset pictures at the KLCC and had dinner in Chinatown.
After a good nights rest we started early Saturday morning at the Petronas Twin Towers. All the teams met up and enjoyed a view of KL from the 41st floor, we visited the National Museum, Lake Gardens, Taman ASEAN Sculpture Garden and the National Monument. Marizy and Debree explained the Purpose of The Global Challenge to two Malay women in traditional attire and they were very interested in the work we do.
On Sunday morning we visited the SIBKL church where we were volunteers at the Kidzone during the morning service. This was such a blessed time and we enjoyed the fellowship with the other volunteers and the kids.
Our final task was e-mailed to us by Sulene on Sunday afternoon at 14:00 and thiswas very tense. We visited the indoor-ollercoaster, the Menara KL tower, that is 279m high, and met Ben and Slulene at the KLCC park. The Petronas Tower is surrounded by 7 significant landmark buildings. We had to find the buildings, list them in order and then the first team to finish this task would be pronounced the winner. We were all running around like mad-cows and eventually we finished in 4th place.
The Challenge was lots of fun; we covered all of Kuala Lumpur, but were also glad it was finished.
The teams have been split up for the next month of ministry, not necessarily in colour teams.& nbsp; One team will stay in Kuala Lumpur, one team will go to Hatyai in Thailand and one team to Phuket in Thailand. We are very excited about the assignments and know that God is going to do big things in and through us.
Thanks for you support, love and prayers. We appreciate them all and look forward in hearing from you.
Lots of love and Blessings
The Lime Team
