A ten day faith journey through Guatemala and Mexico.
Our Lime team decided that we are going on this adventure totally dependent on God to provide for everything: food, accommodation, transportation etc. The journey began on Thursday 21 August in Panajachel, Guatemala. We got our first lift and our second and so on, we got money and God provided accommodation and a wonderful meal. We couldn't believe all the things God did - He is so amazing!! The next day we got to the border and were so eager to enter Mexico. But it didn't happen...
First time at Mexico border After getting a ride to HueHue
Our Mexico Visas expired and they adviced us to re-apply at the Mexico Embassy in Guatemala City.We were knocked for six. We stayed there the whole day and prayed and asked the Lord for guidance. Should we stay and try again tomorrow or should we go back to Guatemala City? We slept at the border in a restaurant and the next day we tried again. But we were not given the go-ahead. Back to Guatemala City...down-in-the-dumps... But the Lord, as magnificent as He is, came and lifted us up again that evening by providing food, accommodation and a shower! We stayed with a really loving family for one night before returning to Guatemala City.

Finally in Guatemala City, three days later and further from the Mexican border than when we started. That Sunday night God came and He confirmed that He is Jehovah-Jireh - the ultimate provider. We got blessed with a Mc Donald's meal ,USD 25 and a place to stay! We knew that this is where God wants us to be. Monday morning we went to the Mexican Consulate and at 3 O'clock we got our new visas. With our new visas in hand we were determined to get to the Mexican border. We almost made it that night - only 30 minutes away!
Our McDonalds and USD25- PRAISE GOD
Tuesday morning we arrived in Mexico with an excitement in our hearts - what has God planed for us? We set out to Veracruz in the Gulf of Mexico and arrived there on Thursday. We met wonderful people that God planned for us to meet along the way and we are forever thankful to them for everything they did.
Our last lift dropped us off at a petrol station and there we waited. We had nowhere to go... - Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on me. Is 30:15 (Msg). While sitting there reading, a guy, Paulo, walked past us and we started talking.About 30 minutes later we were off to his house where we stayed the night. That's all God! On the way to the bus station we met a lady, Jean, from America. She gave us her number and said that we should contact her if we wanted to sleep at her place. Amazing...now we have two places to stay. God is good. We stayed one night with Paulo and the Friday and Saturday we stayed with jean. Both of them spoiled us rotten. We wont forget them.

Sunday we started to travel to Mexico City for debrief on Monday with the whole team. With a thousand stories, testimonies and friends we entered Mexico City! Looking back we learned a lot about waiting, listening and dependence. That is how our life's should be everyday. May you search for that in your walk with the Father, His Son, Christ and the Holy Spirit.
