It has been a crazy week...We are in our fourth country already...
We are masters of Asian public transport --- when we aren't amazed by the country side we sleep at 90 degree angles...
It has been a wonderful journey...horseback around the piramides in Egypt, swimming in Thailand, praying for dinner at 2 am in Kuala Lumpur and on the back of a motor cycle in Cambodia..this is only thew first week of 80 days 2008/09...
God has used this time to build close relationships within the team --- it feels like we know each other for quite a while already. I can only assume that the reason for this quick and deep bonding is the work that lay before us, here in Cambodia and especially in India.
We've also used this time for introspection...14 hour bus trips are usually very good for this --- suddenly you do have time to be quiet, and you find yourself speaking to God more and more, iehter just thanking Him for the sights you are seeing, or praying that the Tuk-Tuk doesn't crash in traffic!
Last night (Sunday) we were at a church service in Poipent -- border town on the Cambodian/Thailand border. 30 worshippers in a small room, from across the world really makes you wonder what God has planned for us, and how He uses different people to do very different things...Even the kareoke bar next door did not dampen the the joyfull mood in the "church". Different nations, all praising the same God...."and every tongue in heaven and earth shall proclaim His glory..."
It has been quite an experience so far --- we'll keep the blogging regular!
regards
Martin
