Faith like a Chicken

What a privilege:) Coming to Nepal I had quite mixed expectations as I didn't know much about the country( only about Mt Everest) but I also had amazing feedback from the team that had been there in the previous year. God truly came and taught me that his ways are higher than our ways and totally blew my expectation away.

It all started with an unexpected 25 dollar per person visa cost upon arrival at the airport in Nepal. Immediately knowing that on a Global Budget it would be impossible in human terms to even pay for accommodation with the money that we have left, but a peace came into my heart knowing that my flesh can relax and Gods name will be Glorified.

As we walked out of the airport I suddenly experienced a warmness like never before as Pastor Padam placed welcoming scarf's around our necks to welcome us to the country. Immediately we felt part of the family and realising that it is only through Christ as a common denominator that it was possible to feel that way.

As we were driving to the church and being in conversation with the Pastor I quickly realised that there was something special happening in the Nepal, and we are part of a big God story.

And God can also use a chicken to be apart of his big God Story:) We were at one of many house Churches when we met an amazing women of God. She is the pastor of a small church in a village near Mt Everest. She cannot read or right and everything that she knows she has been taught by someone reading the Bible to her or straight download from the Holy Spirit.

She gave her Rooster to her son to look after it for a while and in this time the rooster somehow got lost. When her son told her that the rooster had been lost she was very upset and immediately went to her sons house to start looking for the chicken. She started praying and asking God to to lead her to the right place to find the rooster.

3 Days of praying and searching went by and as she was walking she felt the Holy Spirit guide her in to places that she needed to walk. As she was still walking she looked up and behold her rooster was right there in front of her.

After hearing this story I was so encouraged on how God is so involved and that he meets every single person on their level and that he is so involved even if it is to find a chicken. He wants to be involved in every aspect of our lives, no matter how small it seems to us.

God started to open my eyes to really start seeing him in everything. It was the last day of Nepal and we were walking in the tourist area of Nepal as Pastor Padam wanted to show us around a little bit. I didn't have any money so therefore could not buy anything.

I really thought that it would be nice to have something small to remember Nepal by as God established so much in me in this country. But I let it go and put it in Gods hands. When we were almost going home Pastor Padam came to us and said that he bought something small for us to remember Nepal by. It was a fridge magnet with Nepal's flag on it.

Suddenly I was so overwhelmed by Gods love and understanding of how much he cares about me like never before. He truly is our Dad and really is involved in every single aspect of my life. In a land of big things (mountains) God truly came and revealed the small things. All Glory to the Great I Am.
