Hello all...
Just a few pics to highlight the madness that was the challenge - (if you have seen the amazing race on SABC you'll have a slight idea...) no transport, little to no money, no transport, no sleeping place, 2 days, 24 tasks... And as for the mention of the chicken in the previous blog - above is proof that WE CAUGHT IT :) and just in case you were wondering... yes - Leo was delicious! :)
The two days were only the beginning... We were thrown straight into Survivor... that's right - a double bill of Amazing Race and Survivor! We had to challenge for food, fight for immunity, build shelter, make fires, live off the land, no shower and do all business in the bush :) What an experience... my team (combination of Northbound, Southbound, Work-your-way) was sadly not the most successful of teams so we were always hungry, physically drained... None the less the final task - the most important - WE WON!!!! Viva GOLGOTHA (team name)! VIVA! and got to go to base camp and shower 1 night early...
Base camp saw us with 10 days of no outside communication... We attended various workshops (Theophostic Prayer Ministry, Building, Children's Ministry and Preaching) and did various activities (Paintball, High and Low Rope Courses, Archery, Absailing)... all these we related to the works of the Lord, I will never look at things the same again... and the fact that I am hectically afraid of heights caused 2 pairs of ruined undies... but it was worth it all...
