Just as winter threatened to close in on us we hopped over the equator!
Since we began our travels it has been full of adventure and fun.
Here are a few of the many "forever moments" I would love to share with you. Forever moments are those moments that you would like to last forever.
God giving us the word that we would go up to Christ the Redeemer staue in Rio and then actually going because of miraculous provision!
Realising we are not visiting churches but actually going to Copacabana beach and a tour around Rio with pastor Markos.... #lostintranslation #goodthingIpackedmycostume
Sharing moms home baked chocolate chip cookies during a famous "intervalo" (break time) with our Brazillian family.
Floating on the amazon for a week...food team had the privelege of running into amazon villages for supplies shouting bananas, bananas, where can we buy bananas.... when the boat stopped for 10 min.
A kind lady from the boat cooked our freshly caught Amazon fish for us. She grew up in an Amazon village, her dad is an Amazon river fisherman, we were floating in the Amazon it was Amazon! I mean Amazing!
One night on the roof of boat our whole team was involved in a family work out, cross fit session!
Pierre and I got into an intense bible discussion with a Brazillian man that could only speak portugese and so the only way we could communicate was through reading the bible... we read the verse he points out then he reads the verse we point out with a lot of sherrades in between!
Back in Kenya squeezing 7 people into a tuk tuk to see "Kenya's most beautiful beach"... the wind was blowing... the beach was miserable but we had good company... we're on an adventure and determined to have a good time :)
Chatting for hours while sitting on the bridge at Hebron bible school with Dorothy, one of the Surinamees students there, on our last night at the training school.
"Fishing" with a peice of bamboo, a short peice of line, a hook and a bit of earthworm at Hebron school after a full day of work with Suzie and Santushia.
Travelling to a church in the middle of the Suriname Jungle with the guys talking about cars and guys stuff non stop... and on the way back in the car with all the girls talking non stop about weddings and girls stuff... wow what a contrast and yet both so intriguing!
Just as we crossed the border into Suriname our taxi driver deciding to stop along the side of the road at a coconut stall... It was the owner's birthday and he cracked open 15 ice cold coconuts for us while singing, laughing and sent us on our way...! Whaaat?
Being in French Guyana for 24 hours at a youth camp being able to speak French, Afrikaans and English in the same sentence and be perfectly understood.
Worship in Suriname at the Ware wijn stok church... enough said!
And last night braaing as a real family for Jana's birthday.
While travelling for a while new experiences and great adventure can easily be overlooked or seen as a norm. You can also catch yourself not being 100% there... in the moment or not able to take more in.
I am so grateful for each of the moments when I am present, in the moment and am reminded that wow this is really special and to be treasured.
I pray that everyday I will BE wherever I am... taking each opportunity God gives me with both hands, a smile on my face, peace in my heart and God showing me His glory.
