Hello everyone ! This couple of weeks, I could experiment deeply what was the meaning of the verse 8 from the chapter 55 in the book of Isaiah:
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.
Everything started at the border of Suriname. Pastor Deo brought us al the way from Timehri to the Surinamese border with a Bus. So we all went out of the bus and had to hurry to embark in the ferry. We went for the check of our passport, everything was fine for everyone EXCEPT for me ! I didn't have the Visa to enter Suriname. At this moment I realised that I wouldn't be able to enter Suriname, I had a 20 second chat with our leader Chris, and then I went back to the bus with Pastor Deo, not knowing at all what was going to happend with me for the 10 days to come !
But I knew that God was with me, he is always in control and he knew exactly what he was doing. So we left the Surinamese border and went to visit one of Pastor Deo's brother who was living in a village near. Once we arrived there, we decided all together that I was going to stay there for the 10 days.
So let's resume. At this point, I was in Guyana with all my team being in Suriname, and I had to spend the next 10 days with people that I just met 10 minutes earlier. It was quiet a funny situation, but I knew that God was with me, and as I say before everything was and is in always his hands !
For the 10 next days, I just shared the day to day life of a Guyanese family. My host were Pastor Richy and his wife Padmini. I went with them to the local market, help them cleaning the church, fixing some stuff, etc... But the best part of this time, was this opportunity to be alone and to be able to breath a bit. Not that I don't like my team, but living 24/24 with 15 other people is quiet challenging sometimes ! So I used my "alone time" to spend time in the word, had sole discussion with the pastor, read other books... I also had the opportunity to share my testimony with the youthgroup of the church, and to organise a bible study with some members of the church ! God really guided everything ! And when I'm thinking now of this time, I think it was a wonderful time for me to focus more deeply on God on everything he want to teach me, and what it really mean to have him as Lord of everything in my life !
After this time, I joined again my team and we went to Timerhi (where we are still now) to serve in the church of Pastor Deo. The second night when we where sleeping, someone introduce his arm trough the window and stole my Ipod touch that was charging on the furniture just under the windows frame. At that moment I have to say, I was a bit upset but I prayed for it and God gave me peace that if it was his will for me, I had to accept it and trust him ! We shared the information with Pastor Deo and some other friend from the church. And one of the neighboor told us that he will go in the village and have a look if he can find information about a stolen Ipod.
Indeed, praise to God he found some information and even more he found the person who took it, and ask him to bring it back to us. And the person brought it back to us and apologised for what he did !
That never happend usually, I really see God's hand in all this process ! And what God wanted to teach me through this experience I think was that I shouldn't give to much importance to the material thing arround me, that I should just focus on him, on his kingdom and everything will overflow from there !
That's all for this time,
thank you for your support in prayer, and thank you to pray that we'll always stay open to what God want to teach us even if it cost us sometimes a little bit of ourselves ! Learn more of him is more worth than any suffering !
