Our time in Philippines only started after almost 5 days of travelling! 117 hours in total! We arrived tired but our spirits were quickly uplifted as we stared into the faces of the short term group that joined us there! It was so nice to have fresh conversations and to exchange some stories of the past year! They also surprised us with treats from our country: rusks, chocolate, sweets and biltong! Our expectations for the Philippines were big and we were ready to start our ministry! The days were very busy and with the draining heat, our energy levels were challenged! We did a lot of house visits to invite people to our meetings and to pray for them. We had a lot of ‘crusades’ where we ministered to the children and parents. Through it all, we went all out and did the best we could. What made our time difficult was the hardness of the people’s hearts. Most did not react to our message but we trust God that He can change their hearts. After all, it is not us that bring the change. It is all God. He does everything. We are only His instruments. What a privilege to be His child.
We also went to Olango Island for a few days and helped the pastor there with sharing the Gospel.
My highlight for the Philippines: I talked to a man who was caught up in problems, not believing that there is a solution. There were so many things to relate to during the conversation and after sharing with him what God can do in His life, he was encouraged and filled with hope! Thank God for that opportunity!
God is real. There is no need to convince anyone about His existence. He is mighty and sustains everything through His power!
Proverbs 3:5,6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Trust God with your life for He can be trusted!
