So, without further due... here is what happened on the rest of the Yellow team's challenge... as we promised!
After putting up our previous blog, we left Kuala Lumpur at 24:00 that morning, on our way to the Thailand border, still on mission: get to Phuket and pitch our tents on Nai Yang beach. We travelled there 7 hours and crossed the border at 07:00 without any delays. First stop in thailand was Hat Yai, a town aproximately 10km from the border post. Wewere very excited to finally be home 9well not quite yet) to our home for the next month! Our aimto get to Phuket and finish our tasks as soon as possible, turned into 5 hours spentin Hat Yai as our budget didn't exactly afford us to travel by means of any public transport. Through this experience we got to know ourselves, we got to know each other and we got to know Hat Yai a lot better! Eventually a lady who offered us a lift to town,heard about what we were doing, took us to the bus station and even bought us some tickets and paid for it! We arrived in Phuket another 7 hours later, tired but ready to complete our challenge! We still had ‘sticky rice and mango' left to do on our task list, so we explored the streets of Phuket town, at odd hours, excited to finally see, experience, feel and taste Thailand! Just after we ate our sticky rice and mango, we met a dear lady who offered to take us to Nai Yang beach ( a further 30 minutes drive from Phuket town). We managed to squeeze 5 team-members and our back-packs into a Toyota Avanza and we were on our way to the finish (very memorable ride we can assure you!). The challenge-task-list however, gave clear indications as to look for the expedition-leaders' and/or other teammembers' tents on the beach and pitch ours there. But after roaming on and patrolling the beach in the dark for 3 hours, we realized that we were either not at the right lace or they were'nt. So we decided to wait ‘till daylight to continue our challenge - this time to find our expedition group! It was raining, so we decided to sleep in a restaurant for the evening and then started again early the next morning, to search for the others and finish our challenge. We found them about 2 kilometres from there, some hundred metres away from the beach though (due to laws that changed, they could not set up camp on the beach and that explained the misunderstanding) and after praying thankfully realized that we came to the end of our second challenege already! Yet another privilege we had to see places, meet people and be the Yellow team - which in itself is priceless! The travel was long but the stories far outweighs that little discomfort and we are excited and thankful to be in Thailand! Thanks for travelling with us :-)
