My Big Day!

" My old self has been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself to me" Gal 2:20 On the 26th Jan 2010 on a misty weekday morning I was baptist in the Indian Ocean. Making the decision to die to my old self and to live through the Holy Spirit living in me. What this means for me is captured in the above scripture. Through Christ that died for me on the the...

Love!

Love!
The last few weeks God has revealed a lot in the word love for me. A word used so often but not always fully understood and one without which we are all lost. In Colossians 3:1-17 Paul talks about our new life in Christ and how we show put down our old sinful behaviours and set our sights on the things of heaven. This involves putting to death the sinful earthly things lurking inside of us e.g. sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires as well as to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behaviour, slander and dirty language. Instead...

The blessedness of possessing Nothing!

The blessedness of possessing Nothing!
“Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs are the kingdom of heaven.” Matt 5:3 In A.W. Tozer’s book the pursuit of God he dedicates a chapter to the subject of ‘The blessedness of Possessing nothing’, the first beattitude. He here explains that the Lord prepared for man a world full of useful things for his delight, thing made for man’s use. But that these things have over thousands of years become more and more important to man and have become part of the man’s heart, taking the space in its heart which was created for God to reign in...

Thank you for your support!

Thank you for your support!
Hi Everyone It is with great joy that we can announce that we have finished building the house here in Niger. The last week was really been great. Not only did we build the house brick for brick  but we also had the opportunity to build great friendships with the Lawale, his family and the members of the church as they joined in with support. I believe that we were a light to the community and a testimony of Gods provision for his children.   We as a team would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for...

Project Jabulani Park: Building a safe place to play

Project Jabulani Park: Building a safe place to play
[video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZUCfi31hTE 400x400] The Coffee Bay Christian School, located in the rural community of the Transkei is in need of facilities suitable for sustainable child development. Among other needs, a jungle gym (as per the video clip) is required and your support will be greatly appreciated.   The primary school has minimal funds with very primitive facilities. The children of the school face an empty, hard and unfriendly stretch of ground as they step out of the classroom for their play time.   As the Global Challenge Explore Africa team we believe that stimulating child play is crucial for cognitive and...

Swimming in the south!

Hi Everyone After our month in the north of India working at dwarka Orphonage, we made our way to the south of India to catch our plane. After a 50 hour train ride we arived in Chochin and made our way to the closest beach. After a few bus ride and a tuk tuk we arrived at Chirai beach and the Indian Ocean. Me and a few of my team mates couldn't resist and dived straight in. Some were less reluctant after seeing the rivers in India and opted for the sun bathing option but everybody enjoyed the relaxing atmosfere. The south of...

One last blessing before we head back home!

One last blessing before we head back home!
During our 3 weeks in Egypt the Lord gave me a picture of our team. I saw a picture of us walking in the desert and up ahead in the distance Jesus was walking, leading us as we followed in his footsteps.   For me and the team this was very encouraging as we felt the Lord saying that he was preparing the way for us for the next 2 months and that were ever we would go he would have been before to prepare everything for us. Looking back at our time I could see how the Lord prepared...
