The importance of OBEDIENCE

When we listen to Jim, Floyd and even Joe they always hammer on the principle and importance of obedience. And even though we agree with them, yet we struggle to enforce it personally, corporately and as a discipline to others. What we need to realise is the true importance and gravity of obedience and the massive role it plays in the kingdom of God. We’ve not spent time thinking of that much. Heb 5:8-9 Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered. In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he...

Glorious Penang

The more I think about Malaysia, the more I realize what a wonderful country it actually is!
Many a Global team has left their footprints on the culture-rich soil of Malaysia, but for some reason there is little mention about their times here.  Furthermore, I realized that there is still a bit of a lack in solid contacts anywhere in the country.

So, Malaysia isn’t really on any list when it comes to island-nations and we didn’t really intend on spending time here except for our transits through the airport onboard all the cheap Air Asia flights.  In a sense, Kuala Lumpur airport became a second home to our team, without us ever really wandering into the city and beyond.

We found our Distant Islands!

We found our Distant Islands!
221 days after leaving South Africa, visiting almost 10 different island nations, we found the rural islands we thought this whole year's journeys would be like!   Welcome to the Philippines!   Since this was my second visit to the Philippines with Global Challenge (and it was my favourite country in 2011), I had extremely high expectations!   To be honest, I was actually anxious of our 3 weeks of ministry there, because what if it's not as amazing as last year?   What if we don't raise the funds needed for our project in Olango?   What if we...

God's unfailing love for His children in Tibet.

I want to start this by thanking everyone who supported us, financially and spiritually. This would not have been possible without all your support!! We definitely felt all the prayers and that was what made me still stand in very hard times.    Summarizing this Tibet experience in one sentence: God's love for His children and moving mountains to prove it.    This journey actually started in July when one of the team members had a dream. She shared this dream with me and told me we will go to China. I didn't believe her and said it will be impossible, just because...

Mission impossible .......? Never!

Four days ago our team woke up with a mission. Just a mission. We knew what we had to do. We needed to get to Tibet. As we were trying to make this plan a reality, we realised that this is a lot bigger than just us.

Parties vs. Fellowship

Parties vs. Fellowship
Many of us, when we hear Bali, we think of the movie "Eat, pray, love".   An Indonesian island, predominantly Hindu, with cheap furniture.   A multitude of Westerners come here for the parties, surfing or a cheap vacation.   A few years ago I probably would've as well.   But there's so much more to Bali...       Our first few days in Bali, I felt very heavy hearted.   Idol worship, temples around every corner, people "kuiering", drugs openly available.   My mind felt so polluted. I didn't know what we were doing here?   But something...

Belize...

So the first few days in Belize was spent, working with the youth and kids of the small church we were involved with, in Bullet Tree. We taught them a dance, a song and a memory verse, which they got the chance to perform in the weekend's Harvest Festival's services. But working with those kids meant more to me than just getting them to remember words of a song or moves to a dance. I know i have blogged about this, but the innocence and the unconditional nature of their love and joy, just overwhelmed me.

Awaiting instructions in Nepal

So we arrived safely in Nepal yesterday, but there is a great story (testimony) about how we got here... We we started planing the Hidden World journey in the beginning of the year, the idea was to go to New Zealand in September before going to India. That unfortunately was never in budget, probably because God had very different plans. So arriving in India on the 7 September we had 3 ministry points (all being orphanages) to chose from and where we need to go for the month of September. We started praying about this and the evening when I...

Abundance in Brazil

So on the 14 August the team left Panama for Brazil where they were on their Luke 10. In this time I stayed in Panama after I felt God putting it on my heart to pray for the team as they travel. So we joined up again after 10 days, each with different experiences and testimonies. So after these 10 days our ministry officially started in Brazil and we had to split up again, with ministry at 2 different places. Six of the team made there way to Sao Paulo and the other 4 to Vitoria da Conquista. I was...
