JORDAN When I saw the new Journey 'Ancient Paths' that will be going to Jordan it stirred my heart to consider doing the Journey. About a year ago the Holy Spirit inspired me to go and help the Syrian Refugees. He said that He will make a way...and He did. I was surprised when I remembered the word and realised that He actually made it happen. THE CHURCH We arrived in Jordan at the beginning of April. A church in Mafraq that serves the Syrian Refugees hosted us. They give out necessary things like blankets, pillows, matrasses, gas stoves and...

I don't have any words to describe my feelings. I'm so overwhelmed. First I was afraid and didn't know what to expect in Laos, but it turned out pretty good. This two weeks was a journey of patience for me. I spend some time with God to find out what His heart is for me. Then He came and show me that He is going to give me more and more challenges in life and on my journey and that will be the challenges that's going to make me grow closer to Him ! I had some challenges and with...
The two weeks in Laos was a bit different than what I expected. The day when we entered Laos, an old man asked me the date, while we were all filling in our forms to cross the boarder. Little did I know that this old man is about to spend the following two weeks with us... A week before we came to Laos, he wanted to go through the gates, but they didn't let him in, so he waited patiently on God to tell him when to go again. So he chose the same day and time as us. God...
Wow wow wow ! To me this two weeks were all about learning more about faith. I had a few prophecies about me being a woman of faith and, oh, how God started to establish faith in my life and He is still busy and will always be! God will always provide, even in the small things, even in your desires. For example, we craved chocolates, juice, bread, ice cream and cookies, THEN a lady came and gave us a bag full of everything we wanted. Amazing ! I've learned to see God's hand in everything. There is definitely a...
Let us start runnin' man! "Catch dem", "Keep goin' man", "fasta fasta"!! These were things I regularly heard being shouted to me by the Jamaicans in the streets when Erick, R.P and I went jogging some mornings!! As you can make your own conclusion, it meant that I was running behind them! =) My defence will be that I am not that bad, but that they are real good joggers! =) And hopefully I would be able to write a blog at the end of the year stating that I crossed the finish line with them every time! At first,...
17 Days in India went by so quickly. Beautiful kids and a friendly host at the orphanage where we stayed. We decided to repaint the orphanage and to buy something for the children, but we didn't have any money. We needed R25 000 for this project. So we started this project by faith ! Faith that God will provide. Then the provision began. We got blessed with sandpaper and scrapers, 5000 Rupees less for the paint we needed , we payed 10 000 Rupees instead of 20 000 Rupees for the cement and 2 000 Rupees less for the...
Just before Nepal God gave me and Jade word: "expect the unexpected," and did He surprise us every day with the unexpected. In Nepal Northbound divided into two groups : purple and turquoise. Arno, Willemien, Miga, Vanessa and Jade are in the purple team(our team)and this blog is about what we as small team experienced. God sent us to a family that supports an orphanage with 15 boys. Due to a medical operation the host underwent, they could give as much of their attention to us, so we supported them instead. By supporting them God taught us how to bless...
We spent our first two days in the big city of Istanbul (European side) experiencing what turkey had to offer, seeing sites like Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. After our brief stay, we were on our way to the seaside town of Kusadasi, just 15km away from Ephesus, where one of the very first churches was. There our work started and we ended up fixing and painting a lot of stuff and everyone there just kept on pouring their love out on us just as we did with them. We were blessed by our contacts with a day at...
It is a typical warm "winter's" day in the city if Santiago de Cuba, and some of the girls are walking in the streets of the busy city. It is obvious that we are foreigners! At that stage not being able to answer in quite more descriptive words than: Gracias, por favor, see or no, we also sound like foreigners! And at a certain moment, while we are trying to communicate with someone, a well spoken, handsome English Miami looking man steps in! Let's name him Aleandro. Some of us had a very good conversation with him, hearing a bit about...
