God's love in Cuba

Santiago, a bustling city filled with motorbikes, trucks, horse carriages, musicians, street dancers, stray dogs, food trollies, markets and anything in between. There's no room for a misplaced foot . You can delight in a local delicacy about every 50m and the cheap ice-cream brought out that ice-cream-loving-kid in all of us. Our host church was right in the centre of Santiago. The youth members of the church, who received us, are living examples of God's love in them for other people. Cuba was the first country on our year journey and everyone struggled with missing loved ones back in home....

Cuba - the hope of nations!

Cuba, the hope of nations!Cuba - what an experience! Never could I have imagined something quite like it! Cuba - the interesting and unique Caribbean island! The streets are filled with vintage old cars (those you want to hire to go to the drive in with), horses and carriages, bicycles and motorcycles, and even those with side cars! Tiny old houses fill the city of Santiago de Cuba, where some walls crumble to the ground and old wooden doors and rusty steel frameworks welcome you at every door. Hundreds of street vendors are selling their Cuban delicacies for a few Pesos, shouting...

Isreal: The Beautiful Land

One night in Amman We flew to freezing cold Jordan from hot South Africa and had to get to Isreal from there. It was getting late and we knew that the border was going to close soon. So we just planned to sleep in the airport and go to the border first thing the next morning. As we arranged transport for the next day with a man he invited us to go sleep in his summerhouse for the evening. He took us to the house, got some gas to heat the house with a heater and even gave us some...

Inlove with Israel

Where do I start? We just finished our first country: Israel- the Promised land! And I would like to share some of the amazing things we experienced. When we left SA the 11 th of March we didn't fly direct to Israel but to Jordan from where we over landed to Israel! We landed around 16:00 the afternoon- and leaving for the border post was just not a option since we would be caught in the dark! It was SO cold in Jordan and they predicted snow that night, we were planning on having our first sleepover in the airport in Amman,...

The beauty of brokeness

After almost a month in Cuba, which was AH-MAZING!!!!!, it's hard to pick out only a few words for even just a glimpse to be experienced, for words only describe a moment in black in white where the colours are crucial for envision. As the first pages of this chapter were reflected through our lives, it is evitable that our Lord's hand is at work in every single person's life on earth as His plan was and will always be the nations. For our prayers are showered over the city of Santiago and the hearts of our family and friends'...

A heart set on the things above

"You are just so ready for this..." This is the words that echoes in my heart and mind! The readiness in my heart and spirt to do what God called me to do is overwhelming!    Together with the readiness to GO and do it- comes a great sense of joy and faith! Faith in the plans that the Father has for our team but also for me personally! And JOY like I have never experienced before- to be part of such a huge movement and revival in the nations and an amazing family travelling together! But also just...

Blank Pages

The end of a long chapter written only in black and white which consisted out of routine and complacency suddenly was ended off with a full stop. As I read through the climaxes and highlighted parts in the chapter, I'm amazed at how God fits me into His story for the glory of His kingdom. Not to mention the fact that the greatest author of all times is writing my story, where I know boring is nowhere to be found in His vocabulary, for only excellence is to be expected. As I stare at the blank pages before me I'm...

OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW

Training Coming to Global has been my first big 'shift' in life, since I was homeschooled and never changed from hometown before. Not only has my physical circumstances changed but my heart and mind has reached some 180 degree changes as well. Our God is always eager to work in us and His grace is enough to do the work. During the first week of training we had a survivor camp. (But I never even knew that Global students has a survivor camp.) It was unforgettable. The first night I thought that I was going to die from the cold....
