Dear friends and family
A short update of our Min_stry in Yaounde with Arsene. Don't have much two write because I spent a few days of the first week in bed with stomach problems and most of the last week with malaria.
A friendly lady moved out her home to provide us with a place to stay for the 3 weeks. A group of unmarried women and widows provided food for us everyday. Our time hear was spent visiting small groups and encouraging them, 3 evening leadership seminar at the ch_rch. Two bi_le studies at non beli_vers homes, many visits and bib_e studies at fellow beli_vers homes, prayer walking and street ev_ngeli_m.
We also visited two villages outside Yaounde, held interactive b_ble studies evenings at the ch_rch. The people are so used to that pa_tors and visitors just preach, and now they had to divide up in small groups and read a passage and discuss it and two people had to tell the story and the lesson learnt from the story. All to encourage people to come together in small groups to study the word, encourage and serve on another.
Willem and Madeleen had the opportunity to work with a young lady who everyone thought was demon possessed, they came to the root of the problem that she is being abused that everytime in a certain situation or event occures fear triggers her to hyperventilate. She shared before her mother what is happening in her home, lots of truth and hurt came out into the open. People her never thought that that was the problem, so it was a major break through.
It were a busy 3 weeks living on top of each other meeting people everysingle day, but worth it, many lives where touched.
And the last day Willem and myself had the opportunity to get our hand dirty with some hard physical work repairing a rotton wood staircase. It was awesome to be able to physicly serve a family again. We both enjoyed the challenge.
It where 3 weeks of experiancing rich blessings. The people went out their way to bless and accommodate us. Thank you.
Till next time.
Detlef
