Zinder
Dear friends and family.
I am going to skip a few days and kilometers from Ouaga to Zinder and start telling of our time hear in Zinder Niger.
Since Morocco this has been our 1st set ministry and we have been in the area for 3 weeks. Hosted by a couple from World outreach Missions we visited local villages in the area an showed the Jesus dvd followed by evangelisation and explanation of the gospel.
As custom has it in Africa on arrival in a village a visit to the chief is protocol. Walking through Dogo we entered a new believers home for a short visit, encouragement and prayer. Present where 3 inquisitive men who followed us in. During the prayer one of the men asks why Christians only pray on Sundays and not 5 times a week. It then was explained that Christianity is a life style and that prayer is a constant communication with God. Then a man used the story of Noah to explain salvation. By Gods grace the people had a choice to get on the ark and live or to stay and drown. We have have a choice to, because of Gods grace and love Jesus died on the cross for us and we have the choice to accept the salvation and have eternal life or to turn or back and be condemned. With that the men chose Christ. There in that house 3 Men chose Christ. To easy I thought this cannot be real to realize later that that is what we prayed for.
We visited three local chiefs/leaders and prayed for them. Late afternoon we showed the Jesus story in a nearby village. The people listened intently but no response afterwards.
We had a blessed 2 days in Dogo before heading back to Zinder.
Till next time.
Detlef
