They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
(Acts 2:42-47)
This peace of scripture has become a reality after our 2 week stay in this chaotically crazy and colourful country. To actually witness what fellowship is. I know now that it is more than a time set apart to talk about Jesus but it is actually the way you live your life. Wether you eat or drink do it all to the glory of God. And After our stay in China where we could only preach The Gospel with locked lips and hoping hearts, that someone will notice that we do things differently. The country of Nepal has taught me some amazing followup lessons: to add words to my way of life. To not use wise and persuasive words but to trust in the power of the Holy Spirt, for it is only through The Holy Ghost that we actually have wisdom, and we can demonstrate the power of God.
The people have humbled me in the way they welcome and host complete strangers, and they showed me that every meal is a communion and a opportunity to serve. With tears in their eyes the people showed me the power of washing feet and taught me the meaning and importance of a meek heart.
So after 2 weeks of house and village visits, church services, youth programs, A LOT of food, some of the most soul stirring music I have ever heard, bus rides that make a African Bus seem spacious and first class. I have seen God move:
I have seen Him save a girl from suicide by using the power of a testimony. I have seen Him heal the sick. I have seen Him pursuing His bride, unrelenting, not willing to give up or give in. I have seen Him teach, encourage and build up. I have seen Him change Lives. And the thing that astonishes me the most is that the God of all creation decides to do all of this through the people that I have learned to call family, my fellow team mates, fellow students, my brothers and sisters, normal everyday people who are just willing... Willing to live and obey, and be who they were created to be.
And guess what?
this was only our second country...
So we go from glory to glory!
"For this is what we do. Put one foot forward and then the other. Lift our eyes to the snarl and smile of the world once more. Think. Act. Feel. Add our little consequence to the tides of good and evil that flood and drain the world. Drag our shadowed crosses into the hope of another night. Push our brave hearts into the promise of a new day. With love: the passionate search for a truth other than our own. With longing: the pure ineffable yearning to be saved. For so long as fate keeps waiting, we live on. God help us. God forgive us. We live on."
So whats next?
I am not quite sure, all I know is we will be in India!
