We’re here! We made it Brazil!
Our travel here was full of adventures. There was extreme sleeping taking place in both the Qatar and Sao Paulo airports, there were bus rides, hikes, and camp to be a part of. We arrived in Ubatuba and we were able to meet up with the youth at a local camp. It was a great time of getting to know some of there young people in the church, learning some language and starting to build inside jokes. The rest of the week will be spent getting settled in, and continuing to build relationships with people within the Agape church here in Ubatuba.
Since we have been here, God has been doing a work in my heart. It is always interesting to come out of such a spiritually dense atmosphere (like we had in our training time ) and walk out from that safe environment to find how deep the application took root. I find myself in a place of having to live only from God. I know that it is for Him and from Him that my passion for Brazil is birthed and can be carried out. I was so encouraged today when I read Acts 4:13 “Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John, and understood that they were undereducated and untrained men, they were marveling, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.” It is by their confidence that people’s heads were turned towards God and changed. Acts 4:31 “And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and it began to speak the word of God with boldness. It was on the foundation of prayer that the house was shaken. It was because they prayed and the house was shaken that the Holy Spirit filled them that they were able to walk out in boldness. And ultimately it was because of their boldness that they were able to impact those people for Christ. So I find myself not knowing what I can give to the Brazilian people. But I do know this, I know that God has called me to live by the foundation of prayer and to stand on that. From that platform, I find that I can live from the filling of the Holy Spirit and the overflow of His ministry through me.

Hi,nice blog
Im a ex GC member from 2009/10
In your blog you said
-So I find myself not knowing what I can give to the Brazilian people.
Yes you are there to serve and help the church but from my experience in GCEX 2009/10, when we arrived in a new country the first thing was, what can I do for this people, how can I... and yes thats very good, to serve or to disciple someone but many times the new country,people,church... will give more to YOU ( spiritually) than you to them, be open and ready to receive.
Enjoy this year
Be blessed
