Want to test your faith, come to India.

After a few weeks in India we have already seen that God provides in magnificent ways. We arrived in Dehli and after a few nights of recovering from hearing people sniff, spit and pretend to think that West Indies and South Africa were in the same continent we got on a train to Kota. When we arrived in Kota we met up with our contact person who then took us to the orphanage where we scraped, sanded, washed and painted the front and side of a church where we not only preached but also did alot of drama and songs for the kids.

We played cricket with the kids and even though I didnt want to accept the fact that we were going to lose, God showed me not only how to be humble but also that losing by 200runs isnt such a bad feeling. We each got 3 rooms which turned out to be such a blessing and even though this may seem like a cliche they really taught us God's love for us. They really grow on your heart. Frikkie and I are trying to start a project to raise money for matresses for the boys in the orphanage, which hopefully should be up in a few weeks when we have alot of time. In Kota, God revealed one of the reasons why we worked on the church and why India was our first country. We learnt alot of patience with each other and I believe God worked ALOT in our lives. We left with a heavy heart, teary eyes, but a feeling of knowing what we invested in those kids was worth everything and  more that we went through.

After leaving Kota our team got split up and Frikkie, Christopher, and I were the first to arrive in Dehli, we went to coffee shop awaiting the others and started to discuss our plans in Varanasi...which turned out we didnt have any and we were just following God. The cashier over heard us and helped us with a contact here in Varanasi. After a 4hour converstation with the cashier we met up with the rest and got on the "Dreaded Sleeper Train to Varanasi"(quote from Dawid van Aswagen) expecting the worste we got on this train. After learning not to go to the toilets here in India we stayed far away from it. During the whole night we heard noises which in South Africa YOU WOULD NEVER HERE, people took pictures of us constatntly as if we were bollywood stars. In the end it was a very blessed trip because we learnt alot from each other.

After we arrived in Varanasi we went to the contact the cashier in Dehli  told us and immediatly God opened a door for us and the next day we started helping them out, God has really shown us that if we are faithful in the small He will reward us with the big, Praise God that He is on our side. Varanasi is like the Mecca of Hinduism, so they call it their holy city, so spiritual warfare is a very big issue. the driving in India is very different to order, and still far below the word 'chaos' in other words ITS HECTIC, it feels like we go on a roller coaster when we clim in a took took.

Its only the first country and I cant wait to see what God has planned.
Hope you enjoy reading my blog and i hope it made sense to you.
