Work Your Way's First Country!!!

Panama

 Mulder Panama map

After 22 hours of flying we made it to Panama our first country. Our arrival was met with my bag going missing on the airport, not that it fazed me one bit. We then took a taxi to meet up with Pastor Bill at his church in Gamboa, which is a small town next to the Panama Canal. Pastor Bill moved to Gamboa over 30 years ago to minister at the Gamboa Union Church. Mulder Panama 1We stayed at the church for 8 days, where we had so much free time... but it was filled to the brim with worship, prayer, fellowship, teachings and divine encounters!!! I have to constrain myself to not type everything we did because it’s just too much!! We had such an amazing time with Pastor Bill, his family and everyone we met there!! On the last day when we were going to our next ministry point, the “opposition” tried to stop us from going by setting the Mall on fire where the bus stop was. But we made it to the station on time and took the bus to Bocas Del Toro.

We arrived at our first “official” ministry point the next morning were we were warmly welcomed by the 3 family’s that are staying on the Bastimentos island together in a close community. Mulder Panama 2The first family is Bobby and Chirlene Wood with their 3 children, then the second family is Isaac and Jennifer with their 5 children and then there’s also a married couple Chris and Ashley Bolt, all who are on the island because of God’s calling for them to come. There is also a videographer/photographer on the island, Jay who is doing a project/documentary on everything that’s happening here.

As the Work Your Way team we got in to the rhythm of things the very next day, at 7:30 we had breakfast followed by worship and then drove by boat to our second “home” for the duration of our stay. Bobby is busy building homes and buildings to live in and minister from, for him and his family and for whoever feels like God is sending them here to help with ministry on the islands and surrounding communities. Our work here was digging a hole for a septic tank, to help finish an almost complete hole, to build a walkway from the dock to the kitchen/hall and to dig trenches for piping, we did a lot of digging which was actually very fun!! That was what our weekdays were filled with and our weekends were filled with anything we could keep our self’s ‘busy’ with... so that was spear fishing, catching and eating snake, jogging, canoeing, snorkelling, and so forth...

Our time in Panama has come to an end and today we start making our way to Costa Rica. We have had more than an awesome time in Panama and I can’t wait to see what God has planned for the next leg of our journey!!!!
