Mission impossible .......? Never!

Four days ago our team woke up with a mission. Just a mission. We knew what we had to do. We needed to get to Tibet. As we were trying to make this plan a reality, we realised that this is a lot bigger than just us.

We knew we needed Chinese visas to get over the border but that's all we knew. We didn't realise that what we thought was going to be the most difficult part of the trip, will be like a walk in the park in comparison to what we were about to discover when we reached the Chinese embassy counter to hand in our application forms.

When we reached the counter our applications were declined. We were informed that we needed a special permit to enter Tibet, which we can only get through a travel agency. A luxury we didn't have and that definitely not within our budget.

Our dream of hiking up into the mountains with nothing but a day bag suddenly got crushed by the reality of political communism which rules the Tibetan people. Realising that gave us more of an urgency to get there.

While fasting for Gods’ will to be revealed more, it struck us that what we are busy with is crazy but because we know that it’s in line with Gods’ will and it has been confirmed to us a few times, we kept on pushing through and trusting the Lord for provision. It was also evident that this battle goes beyond the physical.

So we called upon the body (you) for back-up. Like a well-oiled machine the provisions arrived in abundance and we now have enough money to sow into the field. Our travel arrangements are also going smoothly and prayer support is being raised. The latter, however, is the most important and we still need more prayer.

As you know, Tibet is under a lot of oppression politically and spiritually. Please pray for a revival among the people and for the Tibetan church which is under persecution. Also please pray for our safety and covering and for the work to be done there by us and other missionaries.
