Egypt Through my eyes

                                       The Nile

   The Pyramids

The first country, the first true journey....

I realized by entering the first country that the journey has finally started.  Breaking out of the habits and comfort zones would be hard but focusing on God and making Him my all will be crucial.  There was so much to learn about cultures and religious practices.  Where to start was on everyones mind.  Learning more about the Muslim beliefs and also how to include Jesus into our stories (ISA).

Personally I found Egypt very tyring because there was always a lot of people around in the streets wanting you to buy from them.  It was challenging but also focusing on the beautiful parts of Egypt I would like to tell you about a place that changed my heart.  ANAFORA

This place changed my life and all honour to God that I had the privilege to visit this place twice.  When we arrived at this beautiful place we were so warmly welcomed.  Having a room for myself I could truly spend some quite time with God after the busy Egypt.  It almost felt like a little hide away inside the desert.

The first journey was wonderful but I would like to tell you more about the second time I visited Anafora after our journey to Israel.  During our time there we prayed and experienced that we want to spend some quite time with God and reflect on His will for us.  We were given the opportunity to go to Anafora for that time.

I would like to share with you my journey and what God showed me in this time.

The journey at Anafora started with the story of Joshua and that we had to sanctify ourselves before entering God´s promises for us.  Our journey took us through repentance and also the realization that we should lay everything down.

As we sanctify ourselves before the Lord He promises that He will do wonders among us (Josh. 3:5).  "Behold, the ark of the Covenant of the Lord of all the earth is crosing over before you into the Jordan" (Josh. 3:11.13).  I truly experienced God saying to me that He walks infront of us with His promises and visions.  We jsut need to follow in His footsteps.  "And it shall come to pass; as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests wo bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off, the waters that come down from upstream, and they shall stand as a heap."

God will go infront but it stil takes a chouce from our side to take the first steps to rely on His promises.  Just like Peter when Jesus called him to walk on water.  Jesus wanted him to take a step of faith.  Jesus stands there calling US to experience His fullness in faith but it takes a choice from our side.  WILL WE STAY BEHIND in our OLD experiences and hang unto the OLD revelations or are we open for new things.  Great new promises and new territory to overcome with GOD is waiting for us.  (Mat. 14: 22-36).

THE JOURNEY ON DRY GROUND!?!?!?!?!

Josh.  3: 17

Everytime God calls us to a promise He wants us to step out in faith to release some of the mericles.  But sometimes it takes a journey of stepping out on dry ground.  We might feel that the place is dry and unfruitfull or that we might have missed the promise God has but when we look up we still see God infront of us showing us the promise land infront.  It still shows that we need to hold on to the promise ahead because the journey to get there might be hard and dry.  To follow completely through to the promises we need to walk trusting God in the front.  We need to get to the other side.  So many times we start out happy, excited because God opened the water when we stepped out in faith, but we forget there is still a journey infront.  We need to press on and press through on the dry ground to get to the fullness of His promises!!!!

Don´t look at your journey as being a negative one but hold on to the promises God has given you and KNOW that He is infront taking you every step of the way.  IT just takes faith for you to step out and know He is in control even in the dryest places.

May God bless you and keep you on your future journey´s

Yolandi :)
