Lime Team Blog (officially)

Lime Team Blog (officially)
The Lime team has been going through some changes lately... First, Debree is finance person (quite scary). AND more important and much more exciting... we tied with blue for 2nd place in the India challenge! GO BLIME! We had to plant rice, ride in a sari on a donkey (great job Marizy), play 10 overs of the gentleman's game AND win, try explaining THAT to four indian kids. The visit at the tea factory had Cobus reevaluate his pharmacist calling - HAHA just kidding, but it was pretty cool. Let me just say that it is interesting what people are...

tk..tk..tk..tk..tk..tk..tk..tk..tk..tk.. AAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!!!

Landing in London was a bit like coming home, the flood of memories, the excitement to see everyone and to hear all the news, the nothing to do while everyone else lives their lives and you're "on holiday."   I was super excited to see my all my friends again, the ‘are we there yet' excitement you have as a kid in the way to the sea. And I wasn't disappointment. It was like I never left, the comfortable with each other and just being. It started me thinking... a lot through the year people prayed for me to just...

I want to break free

Once upon a time, in a land far away there lived a beautiful but cruel queen. She had a magic mirror with which she could spy on all the subjects in her land. Two of her subjects landed in trouble with her, and they were severely punished and turned into winged monsters. As revenge they decided to steal the queen's magic mirror and hide it where they hoped she would never find it. On the way they accidentally dropped it, and it shattered into a million tiny little pieces. The queen managed to find all but one very tiny little piece,...

incredible !ndia

India is a collage of sights, sounds and feelings that until now I've had difficulty putting into words. In the first place it's the madness of Delhi and the frustrations of that first day. It's the long windy roller coaster roads and our formula 1 drivers, with the angels working overtime. It's the amazing breathtaking Himilayas that stretches as far as the eye can see (when the clouds permit it), with its many hidden valleys, where the people has never even heard the name of Jesus. It's a little boy begging for food, with his baby sibling in his arms....

Beyond the looking glass…

Bubble bubble toil and trouble. Eye of newt Miles of smiles Stir the rainbow twice Dance around in bells and SHOUT A dash of lavender, a pinch of salt Slowly let it brew...   5 teams jumbled together, one challenge, TONS of fun! It's a bit like putting together the kids from Captain Planet, connecting the rings, and then seeing where the adventure awaits.   We (Mari, Elizma, Tjaart, Herman, & me) started the day with lots of enthusiasm, then we found out about the liquid breakfast we were about to receive - raw egg. Yum.   We had a...

My memo

I've been wondering what to write, what should be said, what could be left out? Guatemala has been one tough cookie, but one of those with the hard exterior and the juicy insides. The Lord has done so many amazing things this month. Oom Jackie says "I'd like to confuse you so that the Spirit can change you." There was major confusion this month, huge headaches, rivers full of tears, AND a massive breakthrough. When does demonology turn into a mud slide? When did Peter start to sink? When did major panic and confusion set in? When I took my eyes...

“FOLLOW THAT BOAT!”

I've always wanted to scuba! I even once almost did a course, so snorkelling in the Red Sea is AMAZING! It's like being in Finding Nemo! ...except for the Darth Vader breathing sounds in your ears.   We've been talking about the having and being-mode and decided on lots of different metaphors (similes...whatever). I've decided that being mode is like snorkelling, I have to decide to put on the gear and go into the water, I sometimes have to swim, but other than that I can just float in God's care, love and providence. Wesley said that you have to...
