I don’t really know why but for some or other reason God wants us to pray for certain things or situations before He will engage in it. God thought it good for us to be involved in His business. A typical fatherly attribute to get his sons involve in what he is doing, not really because he need their help but more because he wants to spend time with them and builds friendship with them.
And for some reason the God that created the Victoria Falls, the Namib desert, the God that decides what color tonight’s sunset should be, the One that placed a boundary to the sea and decided where land should start; He has also thought it well that a particular part of His creation should be involve in His matters and decision-making.He chooses to listen to our prayers and take it into serious consideration. We are encouraged to plead with God till He answers our prayers (Luk 18) and to pray without ceasing (1 Thes 5:17).
Why is it that some issues have to be prayed for for years and others are answered in a single prayer? I don’t know. I don’t think our reason for living is to try and figure God out, but rather to obey Him. So if He asks us to pray we better get started.
rI close with a verse from Samuel’s farewell speech: “And as for me, never will I go against the orders of the Lord by giving up my prayers for you” (1 Sam 12:23)
Favour please: Can you please pray for one person that you know that haven’t received Jesus as his savior.
Love
Hector
