Praying in God’s perfect will.

Have you ever prayed for someone or something but have not seen the results you really hoped and believed for with all your heart?

In Thailand we started talking about this and while we were walking one day, God really just came and revealed the following to me. I would really like to try and explain what He revealed to me by using the following parts of scripture from Matthew, Mark and Luke.img_1000.jpg

Mat 10:1  Then Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority over unclean spirits, so that they could drive them nout and heal every disease and every illness.

Mar 6:7  He called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, giving them authority over unclean spirits.

Luk 9:1  Jesus called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases.

With these three parts really standing out:

Mat 10:1 - heal every disease

Mar 6:7 - send them out two by two

Luk 9:1 - power and authority over all the demons

If we compare and even combine these three parts we can see how specific Jesus really was when He sent out the disciples.  Sending them out two by two, giving them the authority to heal every disease and giving them the power and authority over all the demons and unclean spirits.img_1606.jpg

Just like the disciples God also wants us to do things in a real specific way, and the only way we can truly do this is when we are walking and living in the Spirit every day. Consulting the Holy Spirit in every situation. Looking for God’s perfect will in every situation.

I mean really walking in the Spirit! Not just walking up to a man in a wheel chair, wanting to pray for him and expecting that he will just stand up, but really consulting the Spirit on when to pray and for who. But most of important, really consulting the Spirit on WHAT to pray for, and to only start expecting and believing what you are praying for once you are sure of what God wants you to pray for.

Just like praying for the man in the wheel chair to have his hip healed because you where really lead to do so by the Spirit, not just praying for the healing of his legs, like one wants to out of your fleshly mind.

img_4360.jpgIf you are 100% sure of what, who and when God wants you to pray for something, only then can you truly expect to start seeing miracles. Believing in God’s perfect will, not believing in your own ideas.

So go out with the authority Jesus gave us, just like he gave it to his disciples. Go out and seek God’s perfect will in every situation. Not only his will, not 80%, 90% or 99% but go out and seek God’s 100% perfect will.

Amen.

All the pictures are from Thailand where we are working in a local ministry building houses in the week and spending time with children on the weekends. God is really using this time to reveal many things to me. He has also helped me to work through many things.

Blessings,

Herman van der Merwe
